I just installed ZoneAlarm firewall on my computer. I can load up my home page, but other than that I can not get to any sites on the Internet. How do I change this? I tried watching the tutorial video, but I can not connect to the site to see it.

Hmm... that's strange. The defaults shouldn't lock you off the internet. Double-click the icon in your system tray and make sure the little lock logo at the top is in the unlocked position.

DOLA - Also, did you restart after installation?

I fiddled with that. It did not work. Even if I turn the firewall to the 'low' setting on the Internet Zone, the Internet still does not work.

The only other suggestion I would have is to click the "reset to default" button on the bottom of the main overview/status page. If you have restarted, the lock isn't locked, and it's all on default, I have no idea why it wouldn't work and you'd probably need to check out their support pages for answers.

I think you are still drunk from last night.

I was pretty hammered. Don't you remember from your trip to the Delta that there is nothing to do except eat mexican food and drink.

You can also try clicking on the Program Control tab, find your browser on the list, and make sure that access is allowed to the internet (if there is a checkmark for both trusted and internet).

Good point, and one I should have thought of. There's a possibility that he accidentally hit deny when ZA asked for permission for his browser and his home page is simply stuck in his cache.

I changed the setting to reflect the Netscape being able to connect to the server. It worked for a few minutes and then stopped working. The only change I made was a "do not display this message" when it was telling me something was going on with the computer.

The only time I had a real problem with ZA, I just reset my cable modem and all worked well. That said, I'm curious how this turns out because I've heard of this before and want to know how to fix it.

I just reset my cable modem and that did nothing either. I have fired off an email to ZoneAlarm Tech support and will see how things go from there.
