Civ 3 question

I just reinstalled Civ3 and it keeps crashing, even I've d/l the 1.19f(I think) patch from like 2002. How can I find out if the patch installed correctly?

I mean, I've got to a point in the game where it just won't let me go any further because it automatically crashes.

In the text files there is one called version(duh) the contents are:

#VERSION
1.07f

So I guess it didn't install ? Why do games have to be such crap out of the box.

Don't know what I did different, just installed it again...carry on, nothing to see.

I dunno - I just recently installed Civ III and haven't had any issues. The version number is listed on the initial menu screen (lower left corner).

but yeah, I'd suggest reinstalling

i just redownloaded CIV III Conquest and it's crashing at an alarming rate with patch 1.22. is there any support or leftover forums for the game and my problem
