Coming out next year on June 6, 2006. Supposedly starring Liev Shreiber and Julia Stiles. Just interesting about the date of release.

I guess this is the next in a long series of "Let's remake the classics". Next up, Gone with the Wind? How about Cassablanca? Or Jaws? Maybe Alien can be redone....

Leeave the classics alone, PLEASE!!

They're remaking "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" with Owen Wilson playing the Danny Kaye part. That's got to be as low as it can go.

Not even close. This is one of those cases were the remake has a good chance of being a better movie.

I've paying close attention to the movie. I'm a big fan of the first Omen movie and been looking forward to the remake. I personally think it's going to be a good one.

And boy was that one a winner. I lasted 10 minutes until I fast forwarded the thing to see the peak skin level Maggie Grace reached.

I hope so. I loved The Omen and the sequal (heard bad things of III so I haven't gotten aound to that one yet). Dunno if I'll go and see it (as I rarely go to the movies anymore), but I'm hoping....

You got it. Have you seen one of the banner ads that comes up at the top of the FOFC Forum Page in the last few days?

"6+6+06 The signs are all around you."

Are you familiar with the supposed curse surrounding the making of the original movie The Omen? (seriously)

This is from www.imdb.com (http://www.imdb.com)

Having changed its title from "The Antichrist" to "The Birthmark," the film seemed to fall victim to a sinister curse. Star Gregory Peck (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000060/) and screenwriter David Seltzer (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0783544/) took separate planes to the UK...yet BOTH planes were struck by lightning. While producer 'Harvey Bernard' was in Rome, lightning just missed him. Rottweilers hired for the film attacked their trainers. A hotel at which director Richard Donner (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001149/) was staying got bombed by the IRA; he was also struck by a car. After Peck canceled another flight, to Israel, the plane he would have chartered crashed...killing all on board. On day one of the shoot, several principal members of the crew survived a head-on car crash. The jinx appeared to persist well into post-production... when special effects artist John Richardson (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0724624/) was injured and his girlfriend beheaded in an accident on the set of A Bridge Too Far (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075784/) (1977).

Wow, that sounds even more nasty than the curse going around during Poltergeist. Creepy.

Especially since the biggest victims didn't even work on the film, they were just somehow connected to people with the film (the girlfriend and the people on a plane that Peck was supposed to be on)

dola,

And being in a building bombed by the IRA during that time period wasn't exactly a rare thing. :)

My brother had The Omen soundtrack album and used to play it at bedtime just to freak me out.

And it usually worked.

Wouldn't be more of a curse if Peck was killed in the plane accident instead of avoiding it. Sounds like good luck for Peck that it happened - not a curse.

That would be a great Storyline for a movie.

After all the 2000 storylines that came out, I wonder why no horror writers, or for that matter Preachers have tried to capitalize on the 6/6/6 timeline?

Seriously though, those of you who thought it was awful, were you around back then? It was a hugely freakish film for its time. Teenagers everywhere were scares out of their skivvies watching this film, luckily most were female and in my back seat at the time.....

The original of course. I love julia stiles but am afraid this isn't her type of role.
