DIdn't check out the link, but I used to be the f-ing man at Street Fighter 2 when it came out. I used to put about $20 a week into that sucker.

Check out the life bars at the start of the video, and the manner in which the guy managed to parry his opponent's special move.

It's like nailing a clutch touchdown pass with the clock gone and the opposing team up by 5.

That looked pretty dramatic, but i don't really know what the hell happpened...
Basically, even when you block a special move, you take some damage. The guy was knocked down to the point that even a blocked special attack would have killed him. There is a special defense called a parry that completely nullifies ALL damage, regardless of the attack. You have to do some crazy button combination to pull it off. He parried a lot of different attacks in a row, then won.

you had to press forward on the stick withing 10 MILLISECONDS of the move, and you had to do it seperately for each and every attack in the special. He did it, what, 14 times?
