Escape Velocity Nova

reminded by the Space Rangers thread, EV Nova may be one of the coolest games ever made- and its a mac port, much like Marathon back in day. The ultimate open ended universe, the graphics are simplistic at best, but the gameplay is frigging amazing, and there are enough stories and plug-ins (and a die hard community) to make the game essentially limitless. Think of it as a cool version of Freelancer.

The game was mentioned in one of the shareware game threads. I downloaded it and smugglers 3. Both are good games, but I haven't had a chance to explore either as much as I'd like.

EV Nova has 5 good storylines, but there's a lot more. It would be nice if the trade routes were a little more dynamic, but that's about my biggest gripe.
