This story gave me goosebumps and made me sick to my stomach all at the same time. Our men and women overseas " and those of other countries as well" are truly an amazing breed. Theyre courage , bravery, and professionalism in the face of such horendous conditions fills me with awe.

MizzouRah, Thank you for sharing this article.

Every time I read Michael Yon's stuff I wonder why the heck he's a freelancer. I mean, it's not like his stuff is cheeleading for the Bush administration. He's just a damn good writer who obviously cares a lot about the guys he's covering. Why hasn't someone picked him up yet?

I think this post would be getting a lot more views if people didnt have a misconception about it being a political thread. Mizzourah , just a suggestion but you might want to clarify that ...I personally believe this is one of the best threads out there currently.

Please do... my connection at home is too slow for streaming audio/video. I'd love to be able to download a copy from work and take it home.

I just read the Gates of Fire entry.

Wow.

I think every adult has moments where they wonder what they would do/how they would react in those types of situations. Pretty incredible what these men and women are faced with every day.

Good stuff there. I believe there are a hell of alot of people on this board and across this country who could definetly benefit from reading LTC Erik Kurilla statements. Hopefully they will. And hopefully they will do it with the insight that this man has been in the fight and not making political statements from his comfy armchair. Sounds like truly an amazing man. God Bless him.

It's not. Stop screaming at the shadows on the wall, man. You're really becoming a bit fanatical about jumping all over my wife every time she posts. If you're married, bring home a bunch of flowers and a bottle of champagne, and try to relax this evening. If not, find a nice girl to blow off some steam with. Really. Because I think you've got some repressed anger issues with opinionated women or something.
