I went to a concert last night at the House of Blues in Atlantic City. We get there at about 4pm, walk the boardwalk a little, eat dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe (which, by the way, didn't play any "hard rock"...who picks the muic there?). And the food sucked...
But anyway, the doors opened at 6, and the first banded started playing around 7pm. So there we were, standing for the rest of the night (watching crappy modern punk band after crappy modern punk band...I guess you guessed by now I was there because my friend needed someone to go with her, not because I wanted to see these bands) To be fair, the last 2 (H20 and the main band, The Used) weren't that bad. Not good...but tolerable. There was one semi-cool band. It was a group of 3 percussion players. But they were lost on the mostly < 18 year old crowd..
But, and the point of this post, by that time my legs and back were hurting so much, it didn't matter who was playing. I couldn't go 1 full minute without trying to stratch, move a bit, change my stance, anything to try and stop the pain.
So here I am, the next morning...in pain. Lots and lots of pain. My legs are incredibly sore and my back is stiff as a board. I, literally, can barely walk or sit up straight. I've been awake since 11am and just got out of bed about a half hour ago. I've done and been through a lot of physical strain (not for awhile though), and have never felt this sore.
I'm getting too old for this. No more concerts without seats...
