Reinstalled Freelancer after it gathered dust for a long time. I downloaded this mod for it, hoping to enjoy the game more than I did last time. If you really enjoyed freelancer, then you should enjoy this mod. They took out quite a few exploits, like bribes. They added tons of stuff to the game, ships, weapons, etc. You can buy capital ships in MP with this mod, but I dont think you can use them in SP.

One thing that really bothered me was the start of the third or was it fourth mission. Everytime I was killed right after the cutscene, before I could do anything. I had to put the game into god mode in order to finish the first part of the mission.

I do remember why I stopped playing this game and never finished it. Travelling is such a pain. I dont even mind the jumpgates, but if you have a pirate faction as an enemy, then it is hard to fly through the sector without having the a jumpgate disabled and having to duke it out. Now I can understand the pirates wanting to jump a large freighter, but why on earth would they want to jump a single fighter ship. Not being able to bribe makes it even more difficult. I dont know if I will finish the game any further, so I cannot comment on if the faction re-alignments are more in tune with the storyline or not.

I had a copy of freelancer, but I doubt I could find it very easily.

Well, I got stuck at mission 6, with that stupid race. And that about wraps it up for me. I don't have the patience to replay that stupid race 15 more times to beat it, and its even worse that I cannot skip the 3 minute cutscene.

Well I did some more playing. Passed the race. I disengaged the cruise, and just used thrust. Seemed to work. The next frustrating part was the end of the mission. I kept blowing up the stupid AI. They don't do very well against large stationary targets as they get way to close, and my torpedo's just decimate them. Oh well. Spent the rest of the evening cruising around the galaxy, and found a sweet ass ship :D
