So anyone else think they are about to get rocked...I heard bill simmons said they would go 10-6...only solidifies my view that he has lost all his brains

well, they have a pretty week 1st half schedule (ALL of their division games are in the 2nd half of the season). and, in my opinion, that division isn't going to be as strong as people think it can be. so yeah, I can see them gaining some momentum and doing some damage in the 2nd half.
wouldn't bet on it, but wouldn't surprise me...

Hey Timbucs2...Cadlilac will break down...and Culpepper will start to actually throw more completions to his own team than the other...oh wait im a bucs fan now because all the Vikings do is suck...no matter what...Go Moss and the raiders...and Go bucs...and does anyone know a plastic surgeon? I could see TB going 10-6. They only have 5 games that I see being a big problem for them (2 vs. Carolina, 2 vs. Atlanta and 1 vs. New England). The rest of their games are against average or worse teams. If they win one or two of those games they're not supposed to win, they could easily go 10-6.

Seriously though...does anyone think Cadilac has a chance at over 1,500 yards.
I think the defenses will start keying in on him, but the defense is solid, the bucs have a shot at the playoffs. Grrr...I wish Gruden would have a stroke...

thier o-line has really suprised me. They have looked really solid after the first half of the viking game. And Caddy rushed for so much on that bills defense. I think they could take the nfc south, but its still a bit too early to predict that much i guess

This one statement bothers me a bit...umm...how is brady's 3 super bowls BETTER than montana's FOUR?
Lets check....
ITS NOT.
Montana kicks Brady's smug michigan ass all over the stat board. brady is NOT that level of QB. Sorry dude. damnit I hate it when people make me DEFEND Joe Montana, I HATE Joe Montana...fucking 2 minutes...two god damn minutes.....

I don't give a rats ass how amazing his stats have been, that 50 cent noodle clocking around in that rust bucket brain case of his makes him a LIABILITY. You didn't see the Vikes get to the big show WITH him did you? Granted they certainly won't without him either, but he's certainly not amazing enough to put a team into that level of competition.
Moss is an ass and a selfish ass at that.
When he decides to play every down, you give us a call ;)

Liability? ok lets look at this...
He has better stats than anyone, So catching TD's is a liability.
To the fact that every QB with him ever has had awesome stats with him. Even Jeff George...and Gus Ferotte...
If he only plays half the downs yet does better, doesnt that make him even better?
Personally I would take a man that plays half way and still puts up better stats, cause seriously its about the points and he comes through there...The vikings didnt fail on offense, they failed on D.

what? just because he had a kicker who choked in 98 is not his fault. Moss is the most talented WR out there right now, and even when he is not tryin he is still scoring td's in the defense's face.
nfg22
09-22-2005, 12:51 AM
So basically...what your saying is the patriots recievers are better than moss because they have rings? a ring is an accomplishment but not a pure measure of talent...

To a certain extend you are right. Expending effort on only half the downs and putting up best-in-the-league stats speaks to his amazing talent. He is, without question, the most talented football player I have ever seen. A lot of people disagree with me, but I have never seen anyone else who could do whatever they wanted on the field, seemingly at will.
But I agree with the liability statement to a certain extent (at least with the Vikes, its hard to call anyone else a liability on a team with Kerry Collins). If he had played to his full ability, I believe that the Minnesota offense the past few years would have been the best ever, good enough to win at least one Super Bowl, even with that mediocre defense, and average running backs. In my mind, Moss is a player who cost Minnesota championships by being (lets call it what it is) lazy, he's not the kind of player who will lead a team to championships.

And at the same time, Moss is a player who led Minnesota to the playoffs by his immense talent. The reason they were in such a position to go for championships was because of Moss.

TB is a solid team. Good running game, decent QB, solid defense. They aren't a fluke. They'll win 11 games, not 10.

A 2-0 start does not give fans (of any previous 5-11 team) carte blanche to start trash talking. Especially when they have only beaten the Vikings (w/o Moss) and the Bills (w/o OJ).
But I hope they keep on winning. It's just better that way. :D

Well said. The most talented player I've ever seen. He can do anything on the field he wants to do.
If we could all just dream for a second. . . imagine Jerry Rice having that type of pure talent.
It'd be like a real life version of some superhuman player created in a video game. You wouldn't be able to stop him or the team. As it is, teams can deal with Moss.
And with both the Vikings and the Raiders being at 0-2, I'm not sure we can declare a winner/loser on this thing yet.
