not able to provide link - my friend emailed this to me. this has serious fantasy football ramifications:

The NFL has reportedly suspended 16 more players for
violation of its substance-abuse policy. The
Associated Press reported that of the 16 names 12 are
starters on their respective teams. While an official
announcement is expected from NFL Commissioner, Paul
Tagliabue at a formal press conference Tuesday
morning, the respective coaches have already been
notified. Players that are rumored to be on the
suspension list are: Vikings QB Daunte Culpepper,
Raiders WR Randy Moss, Chargers RB Ladainian
Tomlinson, Dolphins rookie RB Ronnie Brown and WR
David Boston, Browns RB William Green, Denver RBs
Tatum Bell and Mike Anderson, Eagles DE Javon Kearse,
Colts WR Reggie Wayne, Patriots DE Richard Seymore and
Panthers DE Julius Peppers. The others on the
suspension list include Patriot LB Dan Klecko,
Seahawks DE Joe Tafoya, Buccaneers CB Juran Bolden and
Raiders T Chad Slaughter.

The report states that the players named will be
suspended for the first four regular-season games
without pay. For Cleveland RB William Green, the
penalty may be more severe. He was suspended for
violating the same league policy during the 2003
season and was forced to sit out 4 games and enter a
diversionary program. Miami WR David Boston falls into
the same fate as this would be his second violation.

The suspended players will be allowed to attend team
meetings and work out, but they can't practice with
the team during their suspensions. The league changed
a rule this season to allow suspended players to
participate in some club functions. Under terms of the
collective bargaining agreement, all NFL suspensions
are confidential. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello would only
confirm the suspensions.

Tuesday's come and gone. Unless Tags is coordinating with Selig to announce these suspensions along with the steroids suspensions of Johnny Damon and Roger Clemens.

Hoax. Any ONE of (most of) those players would be front page news.

All of them stretches credibility past the breaking point.

It's even more ridiculous because Ricky Williams IS NOT on the list!

Actually considering some of the articles I've read from the AP lately, that might add credibility to the hoax...

Yeah, would've made a lot more sense to attempt to throw one big name guy in there and a buncha nobodies. This would be plastered EVERYWHERE.

Unfortunately this hoax attempt only gets one star.

The thing that gave it away from me was listing David Boston, it lost all believability there.

I have it on good authority that Tuesday's gone, long gone, with the wind.

Imagine the money you will be able to charge for the crossing of the bridge! Just send $10,000 to my paypal account and we can get the ball rolling. Imagine it: owning the Brooklyn Bridge! Act now, because this offer won't last long!

The AP reported yesterday that Thursday is the new Tuesday, so take that into consideration.

Yeah, the David Boston thing was a joke. He doesn't even need to be tested, can smell it on him.

the thing is this particular friend isn't in my fantasy football league, so he gains nothing by passing this along to us (my group of friends).

i thought this was referring to narcotics, sinc Randy Moss is in there and he admitted to smoking pot.

i'm relieved that many believe this is a hoax - Randy Moss is on my fantasy football team and there's a lot of money riding on his black ass.

Of course I am hopped-up on meds, so it's probably just me.

Haha, my brother has not one, not two, but three of the guys on that list. There is a 0.5% chance that his FFL season falls apart on tuesday :)

I would treat this as the typical urban legend-type email. I can't tell you how many friends of mine pass stupid shit by email that I can tell even before I visit snopes to confirm, is absolute BS. We had a very prominent member of our firm pass along an email with a supposed picture of the tsunami hitting that looked like a combo photshop/artist's rendering, and I still can't believe he thought it was real.

The president of my association passed around what was likely the same pic:
