I know there are some tabletop gamers amongst the crowd at FOFC, so I hope no one minds me posting this. I just thought this was a good idea worth mentioning here, maybe get a few more bidders involved for a good cause. I'm not a Replay customer & I'm not involved in this project beyond just happening to have heard about it and deciding to mention it here, but I applaud Pete Ventura & everyone involved for their efforts on this one.

Anyone interested can get more details on the items & the procedure, as well as some indication of which charities will be the beneficiaries (some who donated items have earmarked specific charities, others haven't) by visiting the Replay forum at:
http://forums.delphiforums.com/replayball/start

Just FYI, if you're interested in taking part in the auction, I think you'll need a Delphi member ID but a basic one is free. (Just thought I'd mention that in order to avoid someone trying to bid & then running into a snag with getting into the chat room or anything).

Here's the latest post detailing the auction:
Hi all,

I'd like to officially invite everyone to our upcoming Online Auction to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina, to be held Wednesday, September 14, at 7 PM eastern time, in the Replay Chat Room here on our forum.

Al Arthurs will be serving as auctioneer, and Al will be auctioning off many Replay sets and other related memorabilia in real time in the chat room. The items have been donated by Al and other Replay gaming friends. This should be a great place to pick up some Replay sets (at great prices!) including some rare sets, while also aiding the disaster relief groups involved in the effort to help victims of the recent hurricane.

If anyone wishes to donate items, please e-mail Al at: [email protected]

To enter the auction and the chat, visit this forum this coming Wednesday, and click on the "Chat" button under the Replay Sports Game Forum title (allow up to a few moments for the chatroom window to appear onscreen).

The concept for this auction will be simple. The donated items are listed in the Replay Auction Items List thread in this Replay News folder.

REPLAY ONLINE AUCTION GUIDELINES
Each seller will post an item (or items), and the winning bidder will pay the bid amount to the seller plus shipping costs. The seller will then donate this money to their chosen non-profit agencies helping Katrina victims.

If you post an item for sale and don't mind having the bidder(s) send the money directly to a non-profit group, you have the option of letting your winning bidder(s) send their payment directly to a Katrina disaster aid group. Same goes for shipping costs: if as a seller, you want to pick up the tab for shipping, just let your winning bidder(s) know this whenever you arrange payment. But these choices are at the discretion of the seller.

I hope you can join us Wednesday!

Thanks,

Pete Ventura

Bumpity, and a note that it looks like the auction will be split into two days, Wednesday & Thursday, due to the number of items donated so far.

I don't remotely want to be a pain about this, but I didn't want anybody who might be interested in some of the items to miss out either.
