I have been browsing some of the sites that are used for online leagues and I must say that some of these are outstanding. For example, the IHOF and the way the HTML is set up is excellent. IN one of my other threads I mentioned that I wanted to have player cards set up outside of the game and it appears that the IHOF has accomplished this.

Would anyone or the creator be willing to share how and what they did to get this done? I would like to set this up on my PC for solo use only. I do not play online - if that is a concern. I do not want to copy that format but I would like to use it as a base and then add my own look.

http://www.fof-ihof.com/history/indcareerleaders.php?type=B&cat=1&stat=1&limit=100 (record layout).

This is EXACTLY what I would like to have on my PC. I understand that it requires PSQL knowledge most liley but I would be willing to try it out.

Wish that was standard within the game, and not a third party Mod (no offense, great work!), so that every MP league could have player cards like that.

Those lime green colored jeresys are awful.

They're only practice jerseys. Check out the other pictures to see our actual black/white home/aways.

Yep. That is one lament we have in FOFL, that this is not something that comes with the game and is not especially easy to set up. I know for FOBL a great, great, GREAT thing is being able to call up the html on any player in the league w/o having to open the game. Though admittedly, IHOF has this and I don't tend to use it much, but that has to do with a) the fact that I do usually have access to the game, and b) the pages don't have scouting info on them. Ok, also c) the stats from FOF mean a lot less to me than in OOTP (I have a better grip on baseball stats). In FOBL we have scouting turned off, so "revealing" anything isn't an issue like it is in FOF (not sure how you can get around that).

I've thought about setting up some db's like VPI does, but then there's the issue of getting the info out of the game, actually keeping the db up to date, etc. As it is now, I have a hard enough time putting in the effort to keep the static html team pages up to date (but at least we have roster/transaction pages for each team, that basically just parse Jim's html output to make it more attractive and to sort/filter it).

Hopefully the next version of FOF will have individual player pages with ratings and stats and the ability to turn off scouts. Those features and built in FTP would be reason enough to upgrade :)

Sure, if there's a way to bring a league from one version to another, which hasn't been a priority in the past.

I've suggested in the past that it would make sense for Jim to attempt to have VPI assist with these features in future versions (I wouldn't be TOO surprised if this could be done without cutting deeply into Jim's profit margin)

no public release pretty much answers my question. :(
