Best Football Sim for this year?

What do most people think or consider to be the best pro Football sim on the market? This or Total Pro?

Which has more support?

I own both.

To me, FOF is more fun. It feels more comfortable and the universe it creates is more engrossing for me. That probably has a lot to do with the fact that I have played it through several generations. Its statistics, player development, and overall franchise management (ability to move cities, build stadiums, etc) make it the better choice.

Total Pro has a lot of potential and is a fun game in its own right. I especially like its draft )with analysis from a talking head) and some of its features like player pictures (adds to the immersion factor for me) and owner identities. I think it will grow into a really good franchise.

If money is not an object, buy both and support the independent developers. If you have to choose, try the demos and see which feels like it is more up your alley.

I think that you will find that most of us @ the forum would say that FOF2004 is the best, most thorough football sim ever created.

To be honest, I don't know. I installed it and read that there wasn't a career mode. I guess guys use it for leagues and such.

You might want to search this forum for info. I didn't even play with it 5 minutes. Think I threw it away when we closed the studio I worked at.

Purchase FOF2004 from Solecismic. Be prepared to say goodbye to your everyday life. Practice looking at a computer screen for 12 hour blocks. Get ready to have oodles of fun.

I haven't played TPF much besides the demo, but FOF 2004 is the best football sim I've ever played.... period. Hours upon hours have been spent playing.. and hours more will be spent playing.

i am not crazy about fof but the last i heard tpf has no developer. it is a 1 time shot. the developer is now at grey dog software and in a couple of weeks should have bowl-bound college football out. between the 2 i give tpf a slight edge but since it is going nowhere i can't see any reason to play it or buy it. i am still waiting for the really good pro football management sim.

Well, this year?? Try Maximum Football if it actually gets released in the next few week. I just get the feeling that the Programmer is the one dragging his feet while the financial support for the game, have had enough with all the delays.

With an original release dat of Aug 04 and Nov 04 and a couple of summer release dates; you have to wonder about this game. Without a Complete Demo I am going to avoid this Game like the Plague untill I read some reviews Here at FOFC.

I remember reading here that the game was "Officially done" and ready for release back in November of 2004. This reminds me a lot of Hollywood Movies that get finished shooting and then just sit on the shelves because they are so bad.

Why? Sim engine - plain and simple. Plus it keeps a hellava lot ore stats too. Ahh, don't forget the great utilities that this community makes for FOF as well. ;)
