In a FOF 2004 career, had a QB who is in his 5th year and up until now had developed ratings in the high-50's to mid-60's. Not a superstar but a very solid QB. I've just simmed training camp and the friggin bottom has fallen out of his ratings, now he's an overall 29. He's had NO injuries and quite frankly it SUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've not had this happen before and oh his volatity rating is 16.

damn. that's unlucky.

i think that's about the only possibility. Maybe call it "Chad Pennington-itis?"

I was thinking more along the lines of "Joey Harrington-itis". ;)

aaah. but harrington i don't think has ever ascended beyond that "38-47" good range, where you could ARGUE that Pennington peaked around maybe a "55-60" range.

Well, as long as it doesn't happen to my man Brady Holmes (http://www.fof-ihof.com/player/player.php?playerid=5655) I'll be ok. :)

No, this is clearly the Kordell Stewart rule in effect.

It happens. In my IHOF league, a 4th year DE that I was really counting on dropped from about 60 to 25. Of course, a 4th year RT that was in this 40s jumped to 75, so I ended up even or a little ahead.

His drop was preceded by an injury.

It happened to me too past year in a panthers dynasty, i was being really success using a smasmouth system, Foster was making all the records and suddenly after a training camp he returned being a crap RB, like 20/20 or so, that really pissed me as i couldn't find any reason, that was the end of that dynasty.

The immersion factor in FOF would be helped by an explanation for these busts (although admittedly, not all poor performances can be easily explained). It wouldn't affect gameplay to any great degree, but the game might be more emotionally immersive if there would be reasons like 'came into camp overweight' or 'signed a new long term deal' or 'coming off an injury that was more serious than initially reported' provided for the busts that occur.

well i know that. i just couldn't resist a dig at the J-E-T-S. Although I think I like what Vinitieri said, it's more like the Kordell Stewart rule.
