LOL!
Just had to share my joy....I started the new job today, I do know I will be working my butt off here, but I finally have an office, and one with an awesome mountain view.
I have also been given free reign to determine which path we want to go in regards to the corporate system and the architecture.
It's actually good to be needed and wanted in the job...
I hope to see something like this from TK soon!

Good deal! I officially started my new job a week ago today, though I'd been working for the parent company since late April and had been here for a month in July/early August. It rocks - the location, the people, the project...being unemployed for several months was worth it with this as the payoff. I can't wait to talk about the game we're working on, but that will probably be a long ways off before we go public with it (and no, it's not a sports game).

You got it.
I'm a pretty firm believer that job changes usually work out for the best - either the company/job wasn't a good fit for you or you weren't a good fit for that company/job, and by moving on you get a chance to find a better fit. Good luck and keep the faith.

Thanks for the well wishes. All I have to say this morning is "Gah!" I am being offered a job within the same organization that is a considerable promotion, great benefits, and is where I used to dream of working. The problem is I was trying to get out of my job field. They are offering this to me with the understanding I can use it to find something else later if I do not want to stay. It may sound like this would be a no brainer, but it isn't. I am completely burned out, and I am afraid that this might actually burn me out worse (considerably more pressure), though I'll be working under people I respect and admire (can't say that currently). They are also talking like they may give me some extra time off early on the "recharge."
Ugh.

Was it the new hair growth formula domoxicil that landed you that cush executive job because you look younger now and are primed to lead the company to the promised land?

Congrats to everyone above!
I start a new job on the 30th. :)
I'll be working from home 100% and the company is paying for everything I need. Also going back to work for a great manager that treats his employees like gold. Fat pay raise on top of it!

How did you know?
No, this is even better. The job has also been "offered" to my brother in law. Strange situation turning even stranger.
