The first two at the top, it says insider, but you can click on the "watch now".
Game looks incredible, just hope it plays well. I told myself I'm not getting the 360 or ps3 until I get a HD TV, but if EaglesFan27 raves about this one.. well.... :)

Watch the end of the first movie, the Tampa kickoff... the Tampa guy who gets up from making the tackle walks right into the Green Bay guy, and does the old walking in place move while waiting for the Green Bay guy to get out of the way. Is it too much to ask to get rid of stupid shit like this?

EA is making the game... So I'd say "NO"
WTF happened to VC announcing their new Football game at X05..????? I really wanted to see what Nex-Gen football looked like... Oh well I guess we are stuck with madden... BTW I read that they are not making Nex-Gen Madden for the PC

One thing I read that should make people happy is that Madden 360 will not feature Madden doing the game commentary. They will have local color announcers with a slant toward the home team. Sounds like an improvement.

Hopefully, the store I reserved it at will re-open and I'll still be able to get my pre-order.
If so, I'll be sure to post some impressions. ;)

I have mine on pre order. (Quake 4 and Madden were the two games I reserved, but I'll be adding NBA2K6 to that list this week)

I agree, but I'm still impressed with the graphics, albeit a bit stiff.
I wish they'd spend the same amount of time working on gameplay and the engine as they did on making it pretty.

Bee,
It all depends. I for one, think this years Madden on the consoles is the best it's been in years. I'm still getting a ton of fun out of the game months after it was released. nearly the same engine is in the PSP version which I also enjoy.
In some cases making it pretty does improve the gameplay. More animations, for instance, make things look and feel much better. (and more realistic) I'm not sure how the 360 is going to play. I'm really looking forward to it though.
I do have to say that NBA2K6 made my jaw drop and that Madden didn't. I'm preordering that game today after work.

Yeah, but everyone is answering your question- just looking at the pretty images is what is making all these ridiculous "I'm going to go and pre-order it right now" statements happen.

I'll admit, I'm preordering 2K6 today with those images being part of the reason. I own NCAA2k5 and thought that was a very good game, so I'm drooling thinking of a game that plays well AND looks like that. If I'm wrong, it'll be a $60 mistake. I'm not rich and that mistake will hurt, but it's one I can live with.
With Madden, I preordered the game with strictly my '06 impressions in mind. It's been a great game and one I would get if the 360 has any improvements at all (and no Madden is honestly improvement enought) :)
I'd preordered Madden and Quake 4 before ever seeing a single movie preview or screenshot of either game. I'm sure many will order the 360 because of those images though, no doubt about that one.

Thanks for the link, Todd. This pushed me to call and move my Xbox 360 preorder to another store that has re-opened after Katrina. Hopefully, I'll still get my pre-order on launch day like I would have at the original store. The national help person said it wouldn't affect my day of pick-up..

Every basketball game should look "better" than any football game. You only have to worry about 10 players and 17,000 seat arenas with a basketball game vs. 22 players and 70,000 seat stadiums for football.

Very nice. I hope I get my system on time.
For a variety of reasons, I can't discuss yet, there is a 50-50 chance that I will be buying a home sooner than expected (such as in the next 6-8 months.) Once, we get a house, a new HD (likely LCD) TV will be one of my first purchases for it :)

Yeah.. mine's only 15" and is in our kitchen, you know for viewing while cooking. We have a huge breakfast bar/counter in the kitchen and it's really easy to get to the TV and hook up the ps2/360. It's only Enhanced definition, but my next big purchase (tax time) will be a 50+ HD LCD TV for the living room.
Even with a normal satellite signal coming into the LCD TV, many people comment on how nice the picture is. Can't wait to see the 360 running with component cables will look like.

Nope, it's a $100 accessory.
But if you got the 2nd tier system for $100 more ($400 total) you would have the hard drive, component cables, and more. Three games cost $180 so that equates to the cost that Walmart is bundling.
I'd choose the Premium system over the Core System and buy three games for $580.

That's pretty much everybody's thing. Microsoft can't nearly get the supply they need out there so everyone's bundling because they know demand will far exceed the low supply. And so you're not saving anything. Basically, you're just trying to find the deal where you are "least hosed" rather than getting a good deal.

Might be able to pull that off, depending on where you live. But there's a reason everyone is selling in bundles- because they can and because they make more money by selling addons than the actual system.

You will need the HD in order to play Xbox games for backwards compatibility. I don't know if there's a list out, but I know it won't play all of the Xbox games, but at least the major ones should be on there (Halo 2, Madden, etc.).

Here is a HD Madden video: http://xboxmovies.teamxbox.com/xbox-360-hires/2666/Madden-NFL-06-HD-Trailer/
Wow, impressive stuff.

Mem Card= $40
HD Cables= $40
Core System with both= $379
Premium system with Hard Drive, HD cables, Live Headset, ethernet cable, and Media Center remote= $399
You say you'll never play on live but for $20, it's hard to pass up the difference when you also get a Wireless Controller in the box instead of wired.

I'd check out Toys R Us for a 360 bundle. The one in my area just started taking preorders on Friday, I went on Sunday, they had 8 systems available to preorder and I was #5. Guaranteed for launch.
There was a $609 bundle and one for $760 I think, I got the one for $609. You have to put $50 down to guarantee one.
Comes with Premium System, Extra Wired Controller, Madden, NBA Live, and Kameo. I'll probably exchange Live and Kameo though.

I played the 360 demo and would love to pick one up on day 1, but will wait to see how the hard drive plays out. I don't think they should have sold 1 with, and 1 without, especially since the word from developers seems to be, yea we'll use it, we don't care if some people don't have it, tough luck for them. IE, read the madden interview up in this thread. Just seems like trouble for Microsoft.

Yeah, I wish Walmart had that bundle. I know Gamestop did, but they are sold out.

Actually, that sounds like it's playing out perfectly for Microsoft. If most developers are producing games that require, or at least strongly encourage the possession of the hard drive, that just means more money for Microsoft. I'm sure they'd rather most people had the hard drive but felt compelled to figure out a way to not lose so much money per console by offering a higher price point with and a lower one without so they could still claim to have an Xbox360 version under the 'magic' $300 price point.

Aren't the $300 core systems just a limited time thing anyway for the launch?

I doubt you'll be able to find a "core" system anytime soon. The new age "bundles" make them more $$$$.
It's going to be funny to see just how much people pay for one on ebay.

People over at Operation Sports are saying that bundles can still be had at launch at ToysRUs (Who just began taking pre-orders).

I've seen them going for ridiculous amounts on EBay... Over $500 just for the core system. $1,200 for a premium and a couple games and extra accessories.
My friend got the #6 preorder at my local TRU and put his $609 bundle on EBay to try to make money off of it.

This is somewhat disturbing:
Probably the most frustrating change is the lack of the ability to challenge calls. It's not going into the final version of the game.
So you can't challenge calls on the 360 version? Not a dealbreaker, but definitely something that is strange. The ability to challenge calls is broken anyhow on the other systems; for example, if a QB fumbles, the ref looks to see if his knee was down as opposed to looking to see if his arm was moving forward.

I found out today that due to my EB Games store being closed from the storm (and apparently not re-opening anytime in the next few months) that my pre-order has been transferred to another store, but I'm no longer "guaranteed" to get an Xbox 360 from the first batch.
I also saw the Xbox 360 in action at a kiosk, and my jaw dropped. A guy was playing King Kong and the graphics were amazing.

They didn't want challenging calls in the first next-gen version cause it didn't work right anyway. I'd rather have them get the calls right first, then script bad calls next year.

Yes indeed, King Kong is on my list of release day games to get. :)
