In the "Why-I-decided-to-keep-my-team-together-even-so-far-over-the-cap" column, I'm favored by 22 in my next game. What's the most y'all have seen?

I'm horrible at figuring out spreads, but I understand negative numbers are always good. In which case, the most my team was ever favored by in FOF was by -17. Funny thing is, my CPU opponents pull off near upsets in what ends up becoming rather close games decided by 4 pts or less. http://dynamic.gamespy.com/%7Efof/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif (My teams often have a tendency to choke a lot in games they've been heavily favored to win)

Someone needs a coach with better motivational skills! Crap. I completely forgot about that 'Motivation' attribute...http://dynamic.gamespy.com/%7Efof/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif Think that would help? I'll have to look into it when I get home tonight. Not too long ago my mediocre team three seasons broke 'E' in the entire first 6 weeks against their opponents (first time I had a 'draw' in my universe).
EDIT: A draw on my team, that is.

Someone needs a coach with better motivational skills! Interesting thought ... has this ever been documented? From my own observation and comments from other gamers, there seems to be plenty of anecdotal evidence that soime teams when favored by large margins tend to underperform and struggle against much lesser opponents. Motivation skills would seem to be a logical connection.
Has anyone ever studied this and I just missed it? It's a fascinating topic.
