Software Sales Question

I wrote an offline fantasy draft software app about a year ago. We've used it in our league the past two seasons. Seems to work really well and has some neat features (a mel kiper that makes comments about each pick for instance). So my question is... how many copies could someone really sell for something like this over the internet? Then it got me thinking about Jim and other text game developers. How many copies could they be selling?

Anyways, I was thinking if I could find 50-100 people willing to buy that draft software... I'd be amazed. :)

If I knew more about it I would probably buy it. I was looking for some good draft software this year.

A lot depends on the potential market - which to be honest for a product like that is somewhat out of my experience.

If its well written and presented then I think the figures you put up are probably about right (but would probably not happen in a single year) if its prices sensibly, the cheaper it was priced generally the more you'd sell (down to a minimum amount around $6.95 below which people would deem it 'rubbish' because its so cheap and not purchase it in my experience, strange but true).

Again a lot depends on circumstances and whether its 'promoted' (even to the extent of tracking down forums where potential customers might be and posting there) ...

I wish I could help you Riggins44. The Internet will be your best bet but the potential for both success and failure on the Internet is enormous. What succeeds and what fails is anyone's guess. The only way you can tell which you will have is to try it.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I think I'll make a website for it next spring. See if I can't sell a few just for the fun of it. I still have some work to do though. It currently stores it's data in a sql server. So I'll need something a little more portable. :)
