I'm expecting USC to go in to South Bend and stomp on the Irish.

Me too! I can't believe I'm going to miss part or all of the game traveling home, but I'm hoping to at least hear a recap of a USC dominant win on here tomorrow (assuming internet works when I get home.)

That's interesting when you consider that Quinn has played MUCH better defenses so far.

USC has been half-assing it for a few weeks now. I say it catches up with them and Noter Dame pulls of the upset.

USC 59-28, continuing the 31 point spread and dropping ND to 0-5 all time vs a #1 USC team.

Too much talk about how Notre Dame will spring the upset. They'll come out with fire, like last year's Orange Bowl.

A bit strange for me to be commenting on something like this given the way USC dismantled OU in the Orange Bowl, but I disagree with this statement. USC didn't come out on fire in the Orange Bowl. Their first drive stalled relatively quickly, and OU drove ninety something yards for a touchdown. OU then stopped USC again. It wasn't until the end of the first quarter/start of the 2nd after OU had fumbled the ball a couple of times that USC really started to turn it on.

I realize it's nitpicking a little bit, and normally I don't like to bring up bad memories as an OU fan. :)

Nevertheless, the reason I do is that USC has been a slow starter quite a bit lately, even going back to last year. Notre Dame might be talented enough to knock of USC if they do that again in this game.

Doh. That's what I get for watching two things at once. I just kept flipping back and forth and seeing the score change.

Well, judging by the score, it'd be easy to assume. :D

I think that's what is the most painful part of that game for me. I was really nervous going in. Then when OU started so well, I took a big sigh of relief and stopped over here to check out what people were saying. Senator, I think it was, said something to the effect of "Here comes a blowout."

Then OU just began to fall apart, and USC could do no wrong. It's not necessarily OU getting destroyed that will linger with me, I think. It's that they started so well, got my stinking optimism back up, then got destroyed.

Incidentally, I think USC wins this game. But I don't think it's a blowout. USC is just the more talented team. I think Notre Dame comes out with a lot of emotion and makes it a good game, but the Trojans pull it out in a relatively high scoring game. I'll say 42-34.
