View Full Version : Anyone else disapointed by the media's constitution coverage?

Got up half an hour ago and saw about 3 seconds of coverage. Fox is on Bond, MSNBC on inflation, and CNN on Lance Armstrong and Nascar.

Why doesn't this surprise me. CNN carried nearly and hour and a half Wolf Blizter grinning after the power went out last night, but won't say anything when things are going well.

I suspect this will be the status quo come Wednesday when Saddam's trial starts. We'll see his opening statement and then be shuffled off to Natalie Holloway coverage during the prosecutions presenting of evidence.

Do they ever have news reports that consist of, "Absolutely nothing spectacular is happening here. People are going to vote and nobody is being shot or blown up."

More live riveting "Iraqi Constitution 2005" coverage nonstop.

Those channels are all about sensationalism. Is this your rude awakening to that reality?

They don't seem to care much about our constitution. Why would they cover Iraq's?

It's possibly time for my "it's just the media giving the majority of people what they want" speech, but I'll hold off a bit.

It's CNN.com's top story: "Polls close in historic Iraq referendum"

FoxNews.com: "Voting Amid Violence"

ABCNews.com: "Polls Close for Vote on Iraq Constitution"

MSNBC.com: "Landmark Referendum"

CBSNews.com: "Polls close in landmark election"

One of these things is not like the other...

Drudge Report: "Rove 'No Target'"

I don't really see a big problem here, particularly since it's Saturday morning which has been given over to the lighter side of news for a number of years now.

The truth is, I don't think the Constitution vote really amounts to much no matter what happens & I don't think the average TV viewer does either.
