Yeah, just heard that statement in the new ad for the 4 movie deluxe edition package. I guess the Ad writer never sat through the Horrific Turd that is Batman and Robin.

the only masterpiece associated with those four movies is the marketing campaign.

Guess they have to squeeze every dollar they can get out of those peieces of crap (except the first one) before the new line of Batman movies put them completely to shame.

I can't stand any of those movies.

I liked the first one, and the second one wasn't a COMPLETE atrocity. I think the abominations that were Batman Forever and Batman and Robin rub off on Batman Returns a little.

EDIT -- Or I could have been young enough to not realize how terrible Batman Returns was. I do think that 3 and 4 were bad enough to make 2 look worse than it was though.

Eventually I'll probably pick up the deluxe edition of the first one. I bet it hasnt aged well at all. I think there may be commentary, etc.

The new movie was just so fucking amazing compared to anything in this set. I just have this bad feeling they will fuck up the new "begins" series within 2 sequels. Ugh.

First one was great. Keaton saves the 2nd one. 3 and 4..ugh. Batman Begins returns the greatness.

I enjoyed the Michael Keaton ones. The last one was simply horrid. I stopped watching about 20 minutes in.

The first one was garbage.

Look, Batman is two things: a guy that can solve any crime (Sherlock Holmes) and a guy that can really kick some ass (Bruce Lee). The first one brings neither of these aspects off well at all. Garbage.

And Jack Nicholson was just Jack Nicholson-- not the Joker. Tel me that performance wasn't just a bad turn of what he did in The Shining

Supposedly for the last one Schumacher absolutely rips on his own movie and even apologizes for it.

Have to disagree with you. Nicholson was awesome as the joker and stole the movie from Keaton.

"Gentlemen! Let's broaden our minds!"

I have to admit that I like the first one as well. I've been waiting on a "fully loaded" edition of it for a while now. Second one was alright in some respects, but the third and fourth ones were utter crap.
