I know, I know, plenty of FM2006 thread, but I thought this deserved its own thread...

Marc Vaughan has released his Hints and Tips guide updated for FM2006. Last version I know of was for CM4 and I know I've already forwarded that one to a few of you

For now, I think the SI website is getting hammered and we're getting an error message when trying to download, but anyway, here's the link to the thing...

http://www.sigames.com/downloads.php?type=download&id=358&file=409

Marc was nice enough to send me a copy of the thing (55 pages!) and I've offered him to distribute by email until either the SI website gets better, or until mirror sites start appearing. Anyway, anybody interested in getting this baby can pm me with an email address and I'll forward them the guide.

PS: I have not even had the time to read the thing, but the CM4 guide helped me immensely getting acquainted with the whole CM/FM world. Hopefully this new one can help a few newbs get addicted too ;)

sigames is probably nuked off the net, because of all the folks who want to say "Player X has a 17 in finishing, when it should be 16! Damn you all hacks!"

Can't wait for the "Here we go boyz" thread when I get FM06 :D

bumpity bump and that the same time I'll share a tiny hint I just learned and that I had never paid much attention to before. Read this:

In the text from the chairman look out for keywords which might tell you about his personality. A less ambitious and more business orientated chairman will talk about staying within budgets, whereas a more ambitious chairman might concentrate his talk more upon winning silverware.
There is no such thing as a 'perfect' chairman, however business orientated chairmen tend to be fairly beginner friendly so long as you keep the clubs budgets as balanced as possible.
This is from the "Your first days in charge, assessing your club". I mean he's talking about paying attention to hints in the very first email you get from your chairman  .

one final bump, this time with mirrors to the guide:

http://www.fmrehab.com/downloads.cfm?action=view&ID=13

and even a link to a PDF version of the thing:

As for me, anybody who'd sent me a pm with an email address should have received their guide. If you've not received it, you can pm me again, or try downloading it from one of the mirror, or even SI's website.

Hope you all enjoy it, I know I'm reading it and I'm learning a lot with it already, even without the game on my PC :)

i started reading it last night but i dunno...i kinda feel like reading it is cheating. there is some stuff in there that i don't necessarily...want to know. In particular I think i'm talking about the training, and Marc's talking about the maximum ratings swing to be gained from training. I guess it's available in the graph format but i don't think i liked having it laid out in there. at that point i stopped reading it in-depth really. just because it left me feeling like i was...knowing stuff that i shouldn't know.

rushed home from work this AM only to find...no FM yet http://dynamic.gamespy.com/%7Efof/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif. wasn't expecting it, but it would have made a shitty day a lot better
