So I'm watching college football today and on ABC you have Michigan-Iowa, which I find to be a pretty good matchup. But I'm not watching it. Why? Because ABC seemingly does not believe putting college football games on HD until it is a primetime matchuo.

Instead I'm watching Ohio State v. Indiana on ESPN, simply because it's in HD. I don't like OSU and I don't care about Indiana. Since it is in HD, I'll watch it over the 'better' game (though this game is close).

Any of you others do the same thing? Ie, would rather watch a worse game on HD because it is on HD?

And secondly, WTF is up with ABC and HD for college football?!!

I've watched shows I wouldn't bother with before just because it is in HD (particularly some of the shows on HDNet and Universal HD). If I want to watch sports and the HD game available to me is not horrible, I will choose it over an SD game unless I had an attachment to the team/school (Miami Dolphins or Georgia Tech for football and Edmonton Oilers for hockey).

So, I am similar that way. My wife just about refuses to watch any sports unless it is in HD. If it is not HD, she complains often about the PQ.

It must have been very sad for you to not have watched any sports until HD came along. You have missed many great games over the decades. :)

yeah, I had the Mich game on the smallest tv and the Ohio St. game on another non HD tv. The Nebraska and UGA games were on the other two.

I do have the same situation as you on Sundays though, even with the Superfan / local games on terrible grainy stations while the Cleveland/Detroit game looks stunning. (yeah, I said it)

Yup, I watched some of Tennessee / Alabama instead of Texas / Texas Tech (which I was more interested in) simply because I hate watching football in SD. I don't watch college in SD, and will only watch SD Pro when it's one of the teams I root for (Patriots, Bucs, Panthers, in that order).

Yeah, once you go HD... it's hard to go back ;).
