Ok, so I leave for Australia this Sunday...I got a schedule.

I am looking to get a laptop for some games, DVDs, a place to store digital photos, and potentially email.

Any suggestions, should I really look into getting a centrino pentium laptop.

I don't want to spend an arm and a leg, but I do want something to keep me preoccupied, maybe a journal of sorts.

I have seen Toshiba Satelites, Dells, Gateways and the like.

I am also curious if Centrinos will even work in the areas I am (Unless I hit Sydney) and I plan to set up a wireless router at home (when I return home).

Any insights would be nice...

I bought Telle a DeLL laptop with wireless card. its been flawless thus far. I can't really offer much beyond DeLL having very good prices and machines that seem to run forever.
