I recently bought a new system, and I'm trying to move my e- licenses off of the old one. I keep getting "cannot unlicense" messages. I've got the old machine connected to the 'net. Has anyone had this problem before? I've never had it when I've moved stuff in the past, so I'm wondering if it is something simple that I'm missing.

Yeah I've had that problem before. Usually it's because you already had it unlicensed manually from E-License.

Yeah I've had that problem before. Usually it's because you already had it unlicensed manually from E-License.I'm pretty sure that's not the case here. I tried to unlicense around 6 games, and *none* of 'em worked.

Once again, I'm impressed with their customer service. I sent them an e-mail at 12:12pm. I got an e-mail back at 1:07pm letting me know my licenses had been re-issued. :)

SD - that happened to me on my old machine about a month ago.

What makes it really freaky is I was able to relicense them on this machine without contacting e-license, despite the fact that both of my licenses should have already been in use (one on the old desktop, one on the new desktop).

It makes me wonder if the reason I couldn't unlicense was because there was no valid license installed...and yet it let me play anyway. Weirdness.

I need to do this. I have a similar problem, but for me, I don't even have a choice to unlicense. It's not even an option. With FOF, this isn't a problem - I can just use the 2nd of my 2 licenses. But with TCY , it is a problem, because Jim was nice enough to sell me an electronic version of the game after I lost my CD, but I only have 1 license with it.

EDIT: Had to correct which machines had been licensed.

I had the same problem with unlicensing my FOF2004 and was told it had something to do with the Patches I installed. I licensed the game when it first came out 5.0, and then tried to unlicense the game when I upgraded my computer, but was on Version 5.1d by then and my machine would not let me.

I emailed customer support and they fixed the problem by allowing me to download another license on my new machine.
