I'm a commish of an online league... last year the file gradual got bigger in size... about 500k, went to 3-4 mb's about 5 weeks into the season... then went to 8 mb's around the 10 weeks mark, and by the end was about 15...
It of course shrunk back down in the off-season, but now we're at week 1 of season 2, and it's already at 17 mb.... what can I do to shrink this thing?

It sounds like you are including every file created since the league's inception in the file you make available -- all you really need to distrinute are the handful of files that have been created or updated since the last file distribution. A quick look at your file "details" in the folder ought to make it plain which ones those are... but usually the .frc file, the .fga file, and whatever box scores and game logs you generate ought to be it.
Then, keep an archived file for the start of the season, other milestone points, and the end of each year perhaps.
Hope that helps.

thanks... but how do i know which files are box scores i need to keep, and which ones i can drop?
just include the 16 boxscores with the highest numbers each time, as they'll be the most recent ones (assuming you don't switch computers or have something happen that upsets the numbering)

Or less than 16, depending on bye weeks.

just look at the file dates and include boxscores and logs simmed that day.

This should be granted as the 1,000-dollar reward tip.

FOF: The only way your looking at a 15mb file at the end of the year; is if your Comish is resimming something like 14 times in a row. :)
No way in a hell does your league file go from 1mb at the start of the season to 15mbs by the end of the season.
yeah, my season end files have been between 3.05 and 3.20 MB, so I have no idea how its 15MB.
