Okay, I think we're all set. The game should tell you who to send it to, so you can use this thread to get that e-mail address. I believe, however, that you'll always be sending it to the person whose name is below yours on the list (except for vexroid, who sends it to me). As for stmp servers, I think that you guys need to set that up on your own copies of the game. If you do that, you'll be able to send the file in the game somehow (I'm not using it, so I can't give much advice on it).

Here is the order:

Passacaglia (agage1 AT gmail.com) -- Tokugawa per random choice
gstelmack (gstelmack AT nc.rr.com) -- India per random choice
Mizzou B-ball fan (jesseleimkuehler AT hotmail.com) -- Frederick per first choice
Blade (mtokunaga AT gmail.com) -- Mongolia per random choice
Northwood_DK (Northwooddk AT gmail.com) -- Isabella per 2nd choice
vexroid ([email protected]) -- Alexander per 2nd choice

There was a big three-way fight to be the Germans. Mizzou won the random draw for it. I admit that I didn't try to put Northwood in as Bismarck, but even if the game let me, I thought it would be weird to have two Germans.

Tilted axis
Standard World Size
Temperate Climate
Medium Sea Level
Ancient Era
Normal Game Speed
All Players set to Noble Difficulty
Everything else was default.

Doh -- should I try a different type? I realized that we never discussed that stuff, so I made some executive decisions.

On the other hand, I've done so much work already -- can we really justify turning back now, at this late date?

That's the player naming bug. To get around it you just make sure that you are opening the game on a clean copy of Civ IV, correct? Shut down Civ IV, then re-open with the game, right?

FWIW, you can double-click the saved game file and it will launch Civ IV and open that game directly.

Naming bug hit me, too. There were two vexroids. I sent a file to gstelmack labeled "vexroid to gstelmack" -- my 2nd turn worked fine, though.

How about some game analysis? It looks like I'm the only civ that hasn't built a city -- that's my guess anyway, based on everyone's score. If discussion is frowned upon, I'll keep my mouth shut from here on out!

OK, I sent the file to you, Blade. I checked my sent folder and I did send it to the same e-mail the previous time and the spelling matched what was listed in the thread. Here's the e-mail that I sent it to: matgmail.com. I actually cut and paste that e-mail address out of the e-mail that I sent to avoid any discrepancies. Let me know if you get it this time.

Wait a minute, I have a question here...I looked back in my emails, and I did receive a file from Mizzou B-Ball Fan on the 21st...I played that file, and sent it off to Northwood_DK that day, then posted here.

Northwood_DK received that file and sent it on, as he said in post #13 of this thread. Today Mizzou said that he sent me a file a few days ago...

My question is, is this file actually a new file, or is it still the file from turn one? I am not home right now, so I cannot verify, but the name of the file sent to me states that it is BC-4000, which should not be right...

If this file is still for the first turn, then this breakdown is not at my end, because I sent it on already, and so did Northwood_DK...

The file I sent on the 21st out to Mizzou (and that Pass sent to me before that) was for 3960. It keeps adding these saves to the folder, so it would be easy for someone to have resent turn 1 out.

I just got home and loaded the file up that Mizzou sent me today...it is definitely the first turn file, as I did not have my city established, and neither did anyone after me...

Mizzou, if you have the 3960 file, can you send that to me?

So vexy said something about a patch. I haven't looked at that yet, but since we're not very far into it, we might want to start over (especially since two more people have posted interest). What do y'all think?

Well, I am up for a restart...I would like to actually state a list of leaders I would like as opposed to random, now that I am learning more about the game...we are only 1-2 turns in anyway...

No AI civs, as that would throw the balance off. Completely change things if someone is on an island with just one AI. May as well hand the game to that person now. Or hand it to the person who ends up on an island with just me...

My only problem with starting over again is we're already several weeks into this. We restarted once because 1.09 fixed a host of issues that affected the game, while this patch can work just fine with the existing game. I'd just as soon maintain the momentum we've got.

And let me add that I'd be willing to start up ANOTHER game. This is a slow enough pace that I think I can handle being in a few. I was thinking of starting one up that was tilted axis, everything random, with the "raging barbarians" option turned on...
