I know this is something that's probably a new phenomenon. In the last couple days I've seen people who have died on a couple different message boards that I frequent. Is there some site set up where you can register your various aliases, etc, so that in case you die, so that people of that forum would be notified? In the other case, someone from a Steelers board i frequent ended up calling the deceased member's family, only to find out the bad news. I'm sure it was pretty weird for that person's family to get such a random phone call. Anyways, I was considering putting language like this into my will, to notify the people that i may never actually see in real life, but those i chat with on a semi regular basis.

I'm glad you put this in another thread, as I was thinking of making a somewhat similar comment in the maximus thread.

Chem Soldier posted something to the affect of ... "we'll see more of these as time goes by"... However, it seems like we might not.. people will just dissapear and stop posting.. I would imagine a majority of the people here, if they dissapeared because of an untimely death, we would unfortunately often not hear about it...

This is a clever idea, but I have never heard of it.

My wife & I have talked about how to handle that very situation but haven't done anything more than that ... just talked about it briefly. I hadn't thought of putting it in my will, but that's actually not a bad idea (now if only I'd get around to actually making out a will ...)

What about the old "note in the wallet for the wife to find" method?

I hope just before I die I can get letter off to my friend saying that I had a great time sleeping with his wife these past few months.

More likely he'll be the one to kill you, so you won't have to worry ;)

This is why everyone's wife or SO should be an active member of the board! Then if something happens to you, she'll be here to let everyone know...
