To bad with Bowl Bound on the way and my mind stuck on football this download will never even make it to the computer. Bowl Bound should last me through the holidays and till the release of 7.

I hate to say it, but I just discovered a lophole that has completely taken the fun out of this game. Simply sign 4 and 5 star prospect relief pitchers with high endurance ratings off of waivers, then simply turn them into starters...you'll never have to draft another starting pitcher again, and you'l have the top rated minors system forever.

the AI is still putting 4 or 5 stars players on waivers still?
even on new patch 6.51?

I just simmed a bit with one of my leagues using 6.51 and did not see this happening, I only simmed a month or so to this point so the sample maybe too small.

I've already uninstalled OOTP 6.5 and I'm looking foward to v7. For some reason, v6 didn't do a whole lot for me long term.
In fact, if Jim came out with a baseball game, I wouldn't be mad one bit.

I would. Jim shouldn't be dicking around with a baseball game when I don't have TCY 2 yet.

A lot of people agree with you, of course I could care less about TCY 2.
I could envision baseball players with green and red bars.

I always wanted a FOF Baseball game. But whatever, any new FOF game would work right now. EHM is cool, but waay too in-depth for me to really get into it, I think. Maybe I was playing too much Mogul of late. LOL OOTP6 was at it fix for me, which is nuts because I've played it for so long and before that 5. But oh well.

I wanted to quote myself because 7 months later and I'm really loving 6.51 (inserts foot in mouth).
Started in 2006 with Cubbyfan's roster set, Cardinals of course. Went to the playoffs in 2006 - knocked out in the NLDS. Went back to the playoffs in 2007 - knocked out in the NLDS once again. It's now 2008 and I feel this is my best shot for a WS title. Went 5 games vs Atlanta, but made it into the NLCS vs the Mets. Just had one of those great gaming moments as we win game 5 to beat the Mets 4 games to 1 and into the 2008 World Series we go!! This will be Carpenter's last year with us as he wants to be the highest paid SP in the league next year.
The Twins are up 3 games to 2 against the Angels and I'll tell you.. the Twins scare me as they beat up on the 109 game winning A's last round. Should be fun!
My 9th round 2006 draft pick 1st baseman hit .336 with 35 homers and 113 rbi's for our AAA club this year and will start at 1b for us next year as I move Pujols back into LF. We'll see how life without Carpenter goes for us next year, but Reyes (14-3, 2.90 era) is ready to move into that #1 role I think.
Carpenter's last 3 years:
2006 (21-8) 2.14 era 249 K (Cy Young winner)
2007 (17-11) 2.95 era 208 K
2008 (20-8) 2.17 era 233 K

I beat the Twins in 5 games, but I'll tell ya... it was one heck of a series. I haven't been this "into" a game in a long while and I'm happy I gave it a chance.
Anyhow.. here's my wishlist for ootp 7, and well.. ootp 2006
1. AL teams should NEVER carry only 10 pitchers on the roster.
2. Waviers.. we all know that needs fixed.
3. Too many MR's in the rookie drafts.
4. Almanac.. the game needs an almanac.
5. Players signed and then waived.
6. CPU pitching AI and well... AI in general when managing a game and some tweaks to the CPU lineup logic.
7. Add some more pbp text.
I see things that make me check them out, but most of it is in the realm of possibility.. and that's all I want from a game. Most of all, I like simming a week at a time, adjust/tweak a few things.. play the All Star game... and play every key game and EVERY playoff and World Series game. Makes each year go by at a perfect pace and I always spend about 1 hour with each team after the FA period of a new year. I can honestly tell you I know my whole team by name.. fictional or real, doesn't matter.
I truly hope ootp 2006 will get there someday.

With all its flaws, I don't realize how great OOTP is or really any of our textsims are..until I talk to a friend who NEVER plays text sims about what I can do with a computer game and they just love how immersive they are...and just can't believe its possible to do all of that stuff.
That's when I realize how cool it really is..and how happy I am I discovered it..in spite of all the gripes and such alike.
