Hello all,

We've gotten to that time of year when we choose the top players in the country. Here's how the voting will work. Post your All-Americans in this thread. We are looking for a first team and second team. Here is the breakdown we are looking for:

Offense:
QB - 2
RB - 4
WR - 4
TE - 2
OG - 4
OT - 4
C -2
K - 2

Defense:
DL (DE/NT/DT) - 8
LB - 6
S - 4
CB - 4
P -2

The order of the players you submit will matter, so if you want someone first team, put them at the top. Please put the full player's name and school, so no confusion will exist. Votes will be due in by Midnight, Central, Friday, Dec. 9th.

As for the FOFC/SGS Heisman voting, it will be done by PM or email, do not post your choices in this thread. We will mirror the method used by the actual Heisman committee. Send to me your Top 3 choices, ranked in order of preference. #1 gets 3 points, #2 gets 2 points, and #3 gets 1 point. Also, if you could, when you send the list, add to it your physical location, so I can break it down by geography like the actual voting is done. PMs or emails for this will be due in by 12 noon, Central time, on Saturday, Dec. 10th. You can send the emails to eric.t.cartman at gmail.com. We will announce the results at the same time as the offical Heisman announcement on the evening of the 10th.

These two votes are open to anyone, not just people who have voted in the Top 25 polls. If you have any questions, let me know.

My thoughts as well. I sent my Heisman vote, but I don't know if I'm knowledgeable enough to pick All-Americans. I could pick some of them, key positions and stuff, but I haven't seen enough to be completely fair.

Yeah, I could name a Kansas player (Big XII defensive player of the year LB Nick Reid!) and some of the more prominent positions (QB, RB, WR) but, for instance, on offensive line, I'd be lost.

I will try to dig in and get this done.

As for the debate, I'm surprised neither USC nor Texas got a single OL on VPI's list. And Rod Wright probably won't be on my ballot.

Yep, that's why there's a week and a half to get them in. I won't have a list ready to post until this weekend.

We'll see how this weekend goes... things like Leinart-Olson at QB, Maurice Drew as a RB could well be decided.

Dola,

I added some more time for the All American submissions, and took away some time for the Heisman voting. I got the Heisman dinner mixed up with the presentation ceremony, so the votes are due in by noon this Saturday, not noon the following Monday.

Also, for the All American voting, don't get too hung up on OG/OT, DT/DE, and CB/S breakdowns. Most of the players play at both a little anyway.

It kills me that there's quite a few votes for Aaron Harris despite (KU's) Nick Reid getting Big XII defensive player of the year by the coaches and being the only unanimous selection to the AP 1st team. Where's the love?
