I've been checking out the schedules for the bowl games, and it looks like there are zero games on New Year's Day this year? WTF is up with that, is it because its a Sunday and would interfere with NFL action? I am seeing 5 games on January 2nd though, is this true? CBS and yahoo websites both have the same schedule.

Happens all the time when New Years Day is a Sunday. I think the 1987 Fiesta Bowl (PSU vs. Miami) was not on January 1.

Well, the official holiday is Monday, so it's not like we'll all be at work while bowl games are going on. They're be football all day Sunday and Monday - that's all I care about.

my concern was that I am coming back from Las Vegas on Jan. 2nd. Shouldve checked the schedule earlier. Oh well.

That sucks. You've got DirecTV on Air Force One, though, don't you?

Not for all...I think lurker has to work Monday. They took that day off the holiday list so they could give MLK day off.

The Rose Bowl is always after the parade and the parade is not run on Sundays for previous religious reasons. Always the day after
