A great free game

The basic premise of Scorched earth is to blow up your opponent with an assortment of different weapons.

Dude, I remember playing this game like 12 years ago. It was awesome then -- hopefully it's the same game I'm thinking of.

You can buy different weapons with your winnings each round? Stuff like diggers, MIRVs, etc? And you can buy defensive stuff like parachutes and things?

I got it up and running, but it was lagging terribly. I'm not terribly motivated to troubleshoot it at the moment, but it looks like a highly upgraded, 3D version of the game that I used to play back when I was like 8 years old.

Be careful, not sure if this was the culprit, but I got Zango on my computer. Only thing I can think of that I did was install this. However, the neighbor's kid was watching my kids last night so it could have been him as well.

Rollers baby, it was all about rollers. This game reminds me of middle school/high school now. Loved it.

Heh. I'll see if I can talk my buddy into hunting down a build of Scorched Worlds that I can give out.

Said friend worked for a (god awful) game developer awhile back that did a remake of Scorched. I won't mention what other horrid games they released. :)
