I'm looking to replace an older "big box" model, with a flat panel one.
Any suggestions on which to buy? Brand for example.
Nothing bigger than 20" is my price range.

My TV brand.... Sony. I have a 27" Wega and absolutely love it. We also have another normal 27" Sony TV I've had since my exit from the Marines back in '93.
When I'm ready for an HDTV, it'll be a Sony, unless I stumble on something too cheap to pass up.

I'm reading CR, LCD TV's seem to be rated the better choice, while conventional "big box" and plasma are not. "Big box" for size and weight and plasma for "burn-ins" and "burn-outs".
I'll keep looking though.

I bought a 15" LCD TV for the kitchen nonetheless and the picture quality (even in standard definition) is beautiful.

If your price range allows you nothing bigger than 20" you can pretty much forget everything except LCD.

Does anyone know if there is a TV out there that has a built in zoom feature?
I want to zoom live TV.
Not only do I want to watch shows in full screen even though they are being broadcast in letterbox, but I really want the ability to remove the sports ticker at the bottom of the screen when I am watching sports highlight and news shows.
Any chance Tivo could do this?
