Before now, I've used Nero and have been happy with it. I've been looking for software that I can use on a ne laptop without unlicensing Nero from my old one. Thing is, Nero is now $80 and that's way too much for burning software. Is there a good free CD/DVD package out there for WinXP? I'm currently using CDBurnerXP Pro (Thanks Ant for the link), which is good, but doesn't currently support dual layer DVDs or correctly identify my drive's featureset.

Thanks for any info.

Have you checked Antmeister's thread/page?

Another freeware burning utility is DeepBurner. It's not bad, though I'm not certain if it will be a better option for you than CDBurnerXP.

Hmmm...try this one. It's on the freeware list, but it may or may not help you.

Seems that, while DVD Shrink is free, it uses Nero to burn.

Thanks, though.

I may have to wait for the newest version of CDBurnXP to be released.
