View Full Version : Bad&Funny Movie Wanted

I was wondering if anyone here had a recommendation for a movie that's so bad, it's funny.
It has to be a movie that's bad... but is still amusing somehow. I can think of "Glen or Glenda?" by Ed Wood, but it's black and white... and I'd prefer a colour movie.
Thanks in advance.

Halloween III is horrible, but I find the concept of people's heads being turned into bug-filled custard too disgusting to laugh. It's really gross and stupid.

Classic spoof, but I would put that one in the category with the Airplane, Naked Gun category. Not bad movies, just slapstick comedy.
There is a little known horror spoof made in the very early 80's called "Student Bodies" which is hard to find, but if you are horror movie fan but also like slapstick, it is the original "Scary Movie".

Speaking of the Great White North I had the pleasure of catching Canadian Bacon (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109370/) on Encore about a year ago and laughed my ass at how all the stupid things that were going on in the movie were actually now happening in real life years after the movie was made.
You have to watch this movie to understand the level of inteligence and the level of spin that must of been comming out of the White House when Bush took this country to war, Post 9/11. If you haven't seen Canadian Bacon since 9/11 this would be a great movie to catch again. If you have not seen it at all this is a must view. The only thing dumber than this movie is real life.
Edit: Be warned, this movie was written and directed by Michael Moore in 1995. Something I just found out by reading the reviews over at IMDB.

Man, I love me some bad movies. I'm sad to say that I've seen probably 80% of the movies mentioned so far in this thread....even worse is taht I don't consdier half of them as bad. Strange Brew? That's a great goddamn movie. Stupid? Yes, but intentionally so. Bad? I'm taking you to the loony bin.
Some personal faves:
National Lampoon's Last Resort (http://imdb.com/title/tt0110629/) - This was one of the last Corey Haim/Corey Feldman vehicles produced (at least I think/hope), and was released in 1994. This movie makes no fucking sense. It gives the impression that someone spent a week training a crack-addled chimpanzee in the basics of movie editing.....and then gave up somewhere around day two.
Going Bananas (http://imdb.com/title/tt0093098/) - Did you ever wonder what Dom Deluise, Jimmie 'JJ' Walker, and the kid from 'Over the Top' (another awful movie) were doing in 1988? They were putting together this little slice of heaven! "Sure that cast sounds magnificent..." you say, "but does it have a monkey?" YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT IT DOES!!!!! Oh no, wait, it doesn't...it's got a guy in a monkey suit who talks babytalk. Close enough. Every scene in 'Going Bananas' lasts three times longer than it should....there's some Keystone Kops routine in a circus that I swear goes on for 3 days.
Eye of the Tiger (http://imdb.com/title/tt0091027/) - Gary Busey. Yaphet Koto. A small town terrorized by crack-makin' bikers and a corrupt sheriff. Busey's wife gets killed by them crazy coked up bikers in an attempt to run him out of town, but the subtlety is lost on Busey, forcing the bikers to unearth his wife's coffin and deposit it outside of Busey's house. Busey still won't leave town, so the bikers kidnap his daughter. Of course Busey must seek out the biker compound and extract his revenge...in a monster truck covered with grenade launchers and machine guns, while Yaphet Koto jams to 80s james brown and tosses grenades from the bi-plane he's piloting while dressed in WWI fighter gear complete with a white scarf and a bomber jacket. Also, Busey shoves a stick of dynamite up a mute's ass. Best. Movie. Ever.
On Deadly Ground (http://imdb.com/title/tt0110725/) - GOD, I love Seagall. Seriously. This is one of his best/worst, as it's the usual bone-crunching goodness, but in the most eco-friendly way possible. Is it the usual cast of chumps, losers, and rappers fleshing out the cast of this fine Seagall film? Oh no, it's Michael Caine, Billy Bob Thornton and R. Lee Ermey (gunnery sergeant from full metal jacket), and they're all EEEEEEEVIL.....as well as hamming it up as much as humanly possible. Stick around after the flick and enjoy a 64-hour sermon/guilt-trip on how to treat your mother earth, straight from Seagall himself.

I run 4 video stores for a living so I know of a few....
Someone earlier mentioned Strange Brew...this film is a classic. I have a friend with a dog named Hosehead.
Dude Where's My Car and Harold & Kumar Go To Whitecastle are both very dumb but hystericaly funny.
All of the National Lampoon movies are good for a laugh...
Blackball, Going the Distance, Gold Diggers, Van Wilder, there are others but I can't remember them at the moment.
Someone mentioned Student Bodies....another classic. It was a USA Up All Night staple.
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes I & II.
Swamp Thing I & II
Caddyshack 2 is rediculously stupid but very funny
There is a tremendously cheesy Sci-Fi flick called Battle Beyond the Stars with Richard Thomas and George Peppard that is fun to watch.
The last 2 Chucky movies are more comedy than horror...they are good for a laugh.
Wagons East(John Candy's last movie) and Almost Heroes(Chris Farley's last flick.
Dirty Work with Norm McDonald is a flick my friends and I still quote.
That's a good start.

I like this movie. I saw it in the theater when I was a kid. I really enjoyed it. It was sort of a very loose type of the Magnificent Seven in space if I recall correctly...
Peppard was the Space Cowboy. Sybil Danning was in it. They had some lizardman dude who flew a spaceship that looked like a submarine (he even had a periscope for some reason). John Boy from the Waltons was the main lead. They had these three white alien dudes who flew a flying saucer. They ate a hotdog in the movie. Well, one at it, but all three tasted it. They were linked psychicaly or something. A classic, cheesey sci-fi film.

In fact, doesn't Robert Vaughan pretty much play like the exact same character he did in the Magnificent Seven? Or something close to it? I haven't seen this movie in probably 20 years, but it obviously stuck with me for some reason.
I remember the arm thing too! It was ridiculous!
I also saw some movie on HBO (again 20 years or so ago) that used the exact same spaceship (John Boy's ship - the one with the breasts). I have no idea what the name of that movie was/is/. Absolutely! I can't remember that one either but they re-used a number of the same ships. They used the huge ship of the bad guys for sure. Richard Thomas' ship looked like a big moose head. George Peppard had that crazy belt that dispensed ice, scotch, and soda water. ROFL One of the mercenaries had the two short guys that gave off heat. I have to try and find that flick on DVD.

Need more reason to see Bad Taste?
Here is a quick summary...
A team from the intergalactic fast food chain Crumb's Crunchy Delights descends on Earth, planning to make human flesh the newest taste sensation. After they wipe out the New Zealand town Kaihoro, the country's Astro-Investigation and Defense Service is called in to deal with the problem. Things are complicated due to Giles, an aid worker who comes to Kaihoro the same day to collect change from the residents. He is captured by the aliens, and AIaDS stages a rescue mission that quickly becomes an all-out assault on the aliens' headquarters.
I also can't recommend Evil Ed enough. Such great lines such as "Where the fuck's my chainsaw?" and "It's a no brainer"--after removing someones brain.

The Lake 'starring' Yasmin Bleeth. Poor poor poor TV sci-fi movie that clearly ran out of money, as it just ends at the point where the final climax is I imagine supposed to start.
I checked the title on imdb, and no-one there seemed to notice this minor problem, so tried to find more information, but this is such a bad film that there is little on the net according to google.
The best evidence as to how bad it is? Put it this way - Yasmin Bleeth actually omits it from her filmography on her own website! :D

DC Cab (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085387/): What did Joel Schumacher direct just before St. Elmo's fire and The Lost Boys? This gem: DC Cab. Any movie staring Mr. T and Gary Busey is an instant classic, but add in a saxopone playing Bill Maher and you've got bad/funny movie gold.

This movie is hilarious but is completely stupid and seems to have been shot in a weekend. My wife watched 4-5 minutes and had to go to another room.

Seriously, Death Race 2000 just to hear Sylvester Stallone say, "You know, Myra, some people might think you're cute. But me, I think you're one very large baked potato."

Since this thread has been bumped, what about Orgazmo (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0124819/) (a Trey Parker flick)?
