View Full Version : Why does TCY's Overall Ratings Never Seem to Make Sense?

I have been noticing that I can never trust the overall estimates like I can in FOF. For example, I have a Redshirt Sophomore and True Frosh with these future ratings.

Soph OVERALL = 93 (Frosh OVERALL =74)
94 (100)
83 (100)
61 (67)
66 (68)
39 (47)
37 (54)
41 (51)
85 (100)
71 (78)
100 (100)

So the freshman has better individual ratings in every category yet overall he is show to be a whole 19 points less. I don't get it. I come thinking this sophomore is a true STUD and yet the freshman on paper looks 10x better.

YOU SAY THAT IS FUTURE RATINGS....the soph might be better current...overall is current, not future.

Ever played FOF or TCY before? There is a current estimate and a future estimate, both of which can be considered overalls either way you slice it.

I agree this is something that has been real hard to figure out in TCY.
Plenty of times (especially with my WR corp for some reason) I come to struggle between a soph/junior player that looks on paper like a much better fit for the offense on d-day than a feshman who seems like he has no business playing but is still rated by the scout 20-30 pts higher.

I think it's broken. There is certainly no way to make sense out of it, that's for sure.

Sounds to me like TCY is just using Mel Kiper to generate the future ratings...

Are the views of your players by your scout from the respective region?

Yep. And like SkyDog mentioned in the thread I posted, there doesn't seem to be any correlation to your scout's strengths.
