It's not the parts of mayo that gross me out. It's the sight of a big dish of the stuff just waiting to be used. If a thin layer is on a sandwich, I can deal. But every time I've seen mayo on a fast food burger, for example, its a huge thick amount of this slop. And if someone asks for mayo at a restaurant, it will almost always come in some kind of small cup which probably contains like 4 ounces of it. Sorry...but just looking at it completely skeeves me out.

I LOVE mushrooms. there's no such thing as too many of them.
I like raw onions (mostly on burgers) but I don't like the taste staying with me for the rest of the day, so I'll usually skip them. Cooked onions? pretty much neutral. I'll usually eat them, but I certainly wouldn't ask for them.

neutral to mayo. just about any place I'd use mayo I prefer mustard to anyway.

but I do understand the queeziness about mayo - I'm like that with ketchup. If I'm in the right mindframe (and out of vinegar or blue cheese dressing) I'll use it with my fries, but that's about it. More often than not, I won't even do that. something about it just makes me uncool with it.
