A Very Geeky Christmas

This Christmas, the geek gods were good to me. Mrs. SpeechCoach got me a DVD recorder, my sister gave me the funds to buy a DirecTV TIVO, and we just ordered a new laptop for Mrs. SpeechCoach as a reward for completing her first novel. I am in nerd Heaven.

It's still in the first draft stage. A friend is editing it right now. As Mrs. SC describes it, it is "chick lit, but with Filipino women." We'll probably start shopping it around to publishers (and papering a room with the rejection notices) during the new year. My aunt is heavily involved with an association of female mystery writers, so Mrs. SC is going to see if there are connections there.
