Interesting. Well deserved. Surprised that Tom Brady finished up third, though.

Should have been Hutchinson.

I'm a bit surprised Carson Palmer only got two votes.

Manning was a victim of too much success... had they not been 13-0 and he was called upon to put up his normal numbers the last two games I imagine he would have won his third straight.

Daimyo, you could make a similar arguement for Alexander. He sat out half the Philly game as well as the season finale and meaningful amounts of time in 2 or 3 other games that they were running away with. Had he played the full games, it's within reason that he would have finished the year with 2,000+ yards rushing and 30+ touchdowns. Manning would have had to put up some big numbers in the last couple of games to have taken votes away if that were the case.

I think Alexander deserved it. Now its just a matter of if the 'hawks want to pay him.....

I think he'll be gone. Some other team will throw some silly money around and he will take it. I know it didn't happen last year, but with 2 sensational years, and some crappy teams looking for PR buzz, it's going to happen. Seahawks agreed not to franchise him this year.

I think it'll come down to how much the salary cap will rise for next season. As a Hawks fans, I'd love to see them keep him, but really feel that Hutchinson is the guy they need to make sure they keep. If that means franchising him for a year and getting Alexander locked up, fine. I'd prefer to see Hutch get a 4 year deal or so to keep him and Jones together for the forseeable future, but I imagine the market for him may be more competitive than that for Alexander.

Tiki Barber robbed again! :)

I think Alexander was the appropriate choice, but how does Tiki fall below Tom Brady after everything he did for the Giants this year?

I know Tom Brady had another excellent year, but in my mind, Palmer should have beat him out and been right up there with Manning.. Considering its a vote for MVP and not "best stats in the league" He was probably the sole reason Cinci won half their games this year. I can also understand that he only got two votes though.. in most seasons there aren't more than 3 or 4 legitimate MVP candidates, while this year I can seemingly name about 10 off the top of my head.

A lot of people had insane seasons this year, and Alexander deserved it most. That is unquestionable to me.

Tiki Barber did beat Brady in offensive player of the year vote and in total got one vote more than Brady.

Wonder how many more votes Palmer gets if the Bengals hadn't totally shut it down at the end of the season. By no means do I think he should have won, but I do think he should have been higher than 5th. At any rate, if he keeps it up, he'll win one someday.
