Well, if Arena Football gets mentioned (especially when it involves the VooDoo's biggest rival), I'll find a way to make a comment.
If Bam Morris has cleaned himself up, I think he'd be a great fit for the Predators. I don't know if Orlando's top two rushers from last year, Idris Price and Marlon Moye-Moore, will return to the team in 2006, but they didn't get into the end zone much. On top of that, Moye-Moore is worthless on defense, so he wouldn't be a big loss anyway. If Bam Morris has any kind of quickness in him, he'd make a pretty decent mack linebacker. He's got enough size that he can get some rushing touchdowns, and he might be able to put some pressure on the QB when he's on defense.
Jay Gruden is an AFL legend, and if he thinks Bam Morris is good enough for his training camp, I believe it. On top of that, Orlando will have a very young and inexperienced team this year, so it's not like Morris is going to have a lot of competition for a roster spot. Not many former NFL running backs can fit into the Arena game, but Bam Morris can. I'll certainly be following his progress. Since I hate the Predators, though, I hope he makes the team and then tanks on the field. Travis McGriff lost his mind in Orlando last year and basically ran himself out of the AFL. Maybe Bam Morris will make the team and lose his mind, too. Anything that brings the Preds down makes me happy. :D

Maybe he really wanted to go back to Texas, but I can't believe he passed up a chance to play for a very good AFL franchise to eventually end up in the NIFL. There's nothing wrong with the NIFL, but it obviously doesn't have the AFL's reputation. I really believe that he would have made Jay Gruden's roster in Orlando, but he blew it.
Good luck to him in the NIFL anyway.

Former All-Pro NFL back Byron "Bam" Morris signed with the Copperheads as he attempts to make a return to professional football.
All-Pro?! He was never All-Pro. His rookie year was his best and that was just around 800 yards. Never made the PB either.

Well, he was a pro. And it was all of him. All-Pro.
