Vernon.... Mayorga has little boxing skills. But Vernon never wins pretty either. Might be a good fight if Mayorga presses him and makes it a streetfight.

Oh lordy.... this is why I never ever bet on boxing.

By the way, the kid on the undercard got shafted. I scored it 5 rounds each. There is no way it was 97-92. Pathetic.

i can understand the cuban dude winning because it was a close fight, but the operative word is CLOSE, not by 5-6 points. doesn't smell right. and ill go on the record and say that when Mayorga and Forrest have their rematch (Forrest said after the fight there's a rematch clause) Forrest absolutely destroys him

I dunno bigdawg, I thought the kid easily won the first 3 rounds, the 8th and the 9th. I thought a split decision was in order at the least. 97-92 is atrocious.

All I can say is Mayorga did what he had to do, and caught Forrest with a clean shot, thats really all it takes.

This is why I think Forrest will win the rematch

1. I don't think he took Mayorga seriously at all. Remember him rapping on the way to the ring. He just looked liked he didn't prepare for this fight at all.

2. Mayorga is a cocky, arrogant guy, and beating Forrest in round 3 is gonna send his ego through the roof

I just see Forrest training like a madman for a rematch and Mayorga basically doing what Forrest did to him. In the rematch Forrest wont go swinging away at Mayorga if he goes down like he did on Saturday. He'll realize he cant outpunch him, he's gonna have to outbox him, which from what I saw won't be too hard against Mayorga
