The kitten, a ragdoll breed, which died after living for one day, was one of two in the litter. Its sibling was born normal and healthy. (AP Photo/Traci Allen)

This is easily the coolest looking cat I have ever seen (fritz is a pretty cool cat, but he looks kind of normal). Anyway, it would have been neat to see it all growsed up.

Man, i would have loved to see a cyclops cat full-grown. That thing is cool!

The no nose thing probably did him in. I remember when I got my nose job and when I went to sleep my mouth got really dry really fast since I couldn't breathe through my nose.

The picture is kinda creepy considering kittens' eyes don't even open at first...

Yeah, I was going to call BS on this too.
It's eye would not be open yet.

Yeah, I was going to call BS on this too.
It's eye would not be open yet. Your experience with one-eyed kittens is staggering.

It's eye would not be open yet. Also, it wouldn't have been born with one friggin' eye.

Unique events don't always line up in textbook order.

And it's its eye. And that sentence was hopefully instructive. :)

It really looks more like a baby one-eyed monkey than a kitten.

One comment I feel compelled to add - that is one gigundo eye for a newborn kitten. About 50% of its body-weight had to have been eye.

Man, I shouldn't have clicked on the links to the cyclops goat (which wasn't that bad) and the kitten/cat abnormalities/birth defects page (which was bad)...

Looking at the kitten, it doesn't look like it has an eyelid which would explain the premature open eye.

Yeah, since I am now an expert on kitten birth defects, when an animal is born with cyclops, there is no eyelid, and many times they have significant brain damage so they can't eat and suffer from dehydration before they die...but b/c of the brain damage they don't know they are suffering, which I guess is a good thing.

Actually, I found the cat page quite interesting. Some of the deformities were rough to look at because you feel bad for the poor animal, but the cat with 2 tongues is kinda cool!

Your experience with one-eyed kittens is staggering.

Growing up on a farm I literally have seen dozens of kittens either actually being born or shortly there after.
When faced with a new and novel situation, I attempted to apply my past experience.

If you wish to believe every thing you see on the internet, be my guest.
But don't jump on someone who is skeptical of freak animal photos.
