I ran into this site while researching for the FOFC comedy draft. I refuse to carry a cellphone so I'm not exactly an expert on them, but do people actually pay for ringtones? An even better question: Do people actually use verbal "ringtones" as obnoxious as the ones Cleese offers? Granted a few of them are funny, but I'd feel like a total dipshit if my phone rang in public like that.

As an aside, if anyone posts a link to a duplicate of this topic, says "This is so old", or otherwise tries to rain on my parade, I will snap that person's neck.

hahaha

No, I agree with you. I actually have a cellphone, but I really only use it as an alarm clock. I don't even know what it sounds like when it rings.

My co-worker has the Imperial March as his ringtone. I always laugh when we're in a meeting and I hear the Darth Vader theme just before he steps out of the room.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone over the age of 18 who had some sort of fancy/novlety ring tone go off in public who didn't seem like they felt like a total dipshit. They always have this "oh crap, it was funny at first but now people can actually hear it" look on their face while they frantically try to answer the call as soon as possible.
