The FOFC Comedy Draft is now complete. Now we need you to vote for the winner.

Each team consists of four standup comedians, two actors from movies, two actors from sketch comedy, one sitcom star and one performer from the talk show or variety category. In addition, each team was required to pick at least two women.

I put the heaviest weight on standup, sketch, and talk show as to me those show the individuals talent vs. the talent of writers and other actors better.

Therefore, I chose Maple Leafs.

I voted for Maple Leafs because I think his team is the strongest from top to bottom. I also gave some consideration to Swaggs and oliegirl's teams but felt each of them had some weak points that Maple Leafs' team did not have.

I don't get it. Robin Williams might have been funny at one point, but his image is tarnished due his constant on-screening muggings in such craptastic films like "Patch Adams", "Jacob The Liar," and the rest of them. He's out!

I have never been a huge Jim Carrey fan either. While I did enjoy "Cable Guy" (one of the few people who did), never too thrilled with his work.

Tim Allen irritates me too, other than "Galaxy Quest", he does little for me. Foxworthy? No.

Radner and Carvey are good picks. As is Mary Tyler Moore.

Eddie Murphy in his prime out shines Eddie Murphy not in his prime. He was that good.

The Arsenio Hall pick, however, just sinks the team.

DeTox's team is good, but I can't stand Sam Kinison and I personally think that Carlin and Leary are overrated.

That leaves my vote with my boy Sachmo. I absolutely love his team...

Since I don't want to vote for myself either, I'm holding my nose and overlooking Whoopi Goldberg and Phyllis Diller and voting for Maple Leafs. Our tastes in comedy are just too similar otherwise, and every team has some minor turnoffs for me -- except my own of course, other than Leno. ;)

Olliegirl would be No. 2. Tim Allen doesn't do much for me, and while I'm not a Jim Carrey fan he was a great value pick considering where got him in the draft. But Foxworthy is the back breaker. If she had chosen Judy Tenuta instead, she'd have my vote. :)

I didn't expect Schmidty to win since many of his picks are too old school and/or obscure to win a popular vote. But for him to be shut out so far is just wrong.

I went through and ranked each of the teams in each category. I then added their rankings. It was a very close competition for me. It looked like Ollie was going to run away with it until I got to Arsenio Hall, which was a solid pick in a ceategory with a lot of very good picks. It ended up being a tie between Swaggs and AlbionMoonlight and in a head to head competition I had to give Albion a slight advantage and so he got my vote. I'm going to do a fuller analysis of each of the teams when I have more time.

Wanda Sykes is killing my vote for Swaggs also. God, I hate her.

With Olie you can take your pick from Tim Allen, Robin Williams, and Jeff Foxworthy. :)

You were almost the inverse of mine. I had sabotai, Maple leafs and olliegirl in an almost dead heat to win. Detox scored almost 0 points for me, I think it might just be an age thing, and most of his guys were too new or just people I didnt think were funny at all.

Definitely my weakest pick. My TSN Turning Point of the draft was, without question, having Sab take Roseanne two picks ahead of me in the fourth round. Goldberg was a panic pick since I didn't have a woman yet. I don't think she's a complete waste of a roster spot. But in hindsight there were several good women available that I could have had at the end, and I should have gone with one of them instead of Whoopi.*

I think Sachmo's team is great. Nobody is above Bill Murray for movies. Plus a lot of people forget that Steve Martin was a really funny stand up. His team is solid top to bottom.

Seriously though, I didn't expect to win either, but I thought a few people on the board would appreciate classic comedians. Guess I should have went with obvious Hollywood-types, or "edgy, underground" types.

Oh well, I love my team, and really would only consider changing 2 of the picks. The draft was a lot of fun.

As brilliant a movie as The Color Purple was, I will never forgive Steven Spielberg for his critical role in raising Whoopi and Oprah to prominence with that movie. Of the hundreds of talented women he could have cast, why did he have to curse us with those two for the rest of our lives?

I have to give the nod to Swaggs. A pretty deep team, though I honestly don't know the name Wanda Sykes off the top of my head. A bit of variety in the movie category would have been nice, but with Cosby and Stern, Benny Hill and Dangerfield, you have some amazing talent there. Throw in Nehart, who made 2 of the best sitcoms ever and you have the gold medal.


Runner up would be:

Detox based on the strength of his stand up list. Sarah Silverman is a steal if she was the 3rd standup he picked. She is first round talent (in the looks department as well).

That was hard to choose. Basically, I did it by process of elimination. As I read a team, as soon as I came across someone I hated, that team got eliminated (e.g., Ferrell, Vaughn, Izzard, Woody). For the remaining, it was really hard for I really liked vtbub and Swaggs team but had to go with olie for she had my favorites in Williams and Carrey and Carvey (in their respective categories).

Maple Leafs and DeTox were easily the top two for me. In the end had to go with DeTox, because even though Applegate is a seriously weak pick, its the only weak link on the team. If he just could have found a funnier female to put in her place, it would have been a really easy choice.
