Sorry if this has been asked before.....
How much exactly do you guys think this influences the player concerned. To put a finer point on it, would you say a 50 point guy becomes worth 60 if he plays with a standard affinity. Just trying to understand how much an impact we are talking here.

No one really knows because it is so hard to study.
We do know two things, though. First, the game designer's multiplayer team has no conflicts on it.
Second, he mentioned once that he was picking up a player for his team in order to gain another affinity.
Take that information for whatever it is worth to you. For me, it has told me to pay attention to conflicts and affinities.

Thir thread (http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?t=42651) might be worth a look. I tried to assemble a few things there... but there's still quite a lot left unknown.

Thank you, very interesting. My take is that although obviously there are clear benefits, clearly its not the be all and end all by any means. The 2 sample groups were on either end of the scale, so I was surprised the results wern't even more contrasting.
I guess the odd conflict in a non cruicial player isn't the end of the world, but well placed affinities could reap the rewards.
Thanks again :)

I think that sounds right. I always look real hard at affinities, and in my one league my starting RB and QB have an extreme conflict, and both are performing well (RB leads the league in ypc and the QB is rated 45 but has completed 65% of his passes and has an 80+ rating). That's one of only 3 conflicts to go with 15 affinities, though.

Remember... affinities and conflicts apparently affect the whole position group. So, if you have a marginal player with a conflist with your RB leader... it might not seem like a big deal, but it also might upset your star workhorse running back, which might make the marginal player not worth having on board.
Bottom line is there is no one be-all, end-all "answer"... chemistry matters, cohesion matters, development matters, scouting matters, game planning matters, and so forth.
