Probably a long shot, but my niece and her family are moving to Lumberton, Texas. Does anyone have any experience with Lumberton\Beaumont?

Funny name for a town.

Then again, it is in Texas.

One of my friends used to live in Gun Barrel City! Actually she lived closer to Kemp, but saying she was from Gun Barrel City sounded a lot cooler.

As for Beaumont/Port Arthur area, I hope they like the smell of oil refineries.

Eh, I drive through this area all the time. Not my favorite part of Texas is about all I can say.

He's an engineer, so he expects it. :)

Cringer,

What don't you like about it? Is it run down? Ugly?

From what I see, yeah I lean that way in describing most of the area. Ugly for the most part. Although the more north you get from Beaumont you start to get into the pine trees and that atleast pretties it up some, and Lumberton is going north on US69. I am sure there are nice areas that I don't get to see though, so don't take too much from what I say. ;)
