I've not seen this posted around here although I have honestly not searched very hard.

Anyway, here goes a tidbit of news from the SI Games forums.
First, the post that initiated the response from Graeme Kelly, posted on Janury 12:

I'm willing to give SI some slack in this, and assign the bulk of the blame to DR. That said, I wish that SI would give us a little bit of information every now and then. I wouldn't mind knowing when they think this will be fixed, the status of their conversation with DR, etc. I don't really like being in the dark like this.I live in Minnesota where DR is located and know some people who work there. They are a pretty respected and reliable ecommerce customer who has been doing the download thing as long as anyone.

I'm not saying they have no blame in this but it's SI, not DR who is writing the code, correct? It's SI, not DR who hasn't responded to these concerns.

I've been a fan of this series since 99/00 and would happily go out of my way to tell people how great this game is, now it's a different story. The lack of support from SI, to it's North American customers is borderline insulting.

Get a clue SI and get it fixed.and then this response from Graeme, posted on January 14 (afternoon eastern time), regarding the status of things with the digidownload version of the game:

This communication, and testing of different solutions is what is taking time.

We're hoping that a new build will be available next week - I've had confirmation from 1 person that the new build has fixed this issue, but I don't have details on the other people who Duffy/Grant have been talking to with regards to this problem. Both those guys were off Friday when I made the changes, so we can't move on to the additional testing until they're back on Monday. Now, my version is working fine and has none of the crash problems, nor the reverting to demo bug that some people have experienced, but I know some of my FOFC brethren have these problems. Hopefully, there'll be some fix to it this week. And also hopefully, this won't break my version of the game...

Don't give up hope guys! :)

I live in Minnesota where DR is located and I know no one who works there. They are invariably scoffed at in circles I work in. Judging by the time it's taken them to coordinate the patch, it's no wonder they have been "doing the download thing as long as anyone".

I know I have not had any problems with my download of the game.

Umm ... is this still about the same patch that was unavailable because of the holidays?
Please tell me it's a different patch or I'm just confused or something.

it's a followup to the problems that that patch has caused. Some people, after patching to 6.0.2, have seen their game revert to demo, among other things, and thus they are unable to play past 180 days of gameplay...

Thanks RPI & Frog, I'm just trying to keep track out of curiosity & had missed the previous patch release apparently (although I do recall seeing something about the demo regression problem now that you mention it).

As I posted earlier in another thread. DR sucks because after playing the demo, I couldn't even buy the game. I contacted DR for help in BUYING the game. They did not respond. So, I ordered from Amazon, the game arrived within 4 days, and everything is running smoothly. Look, when someone is calling you up not for after purchase support, but with help to buy the game, and you don't respond, well, that's just asinine.

Just posted by Grant Appleyard on the SI Games forums:

Hi All,

For everyone who has had the problem of their WSM Digi River game reverting to demo mode once
patch 6.0.2 is installed, please grab this file:

http://downloads.sigames.com/download/wsm6.0.2temp.zip (http://downloads.sigames.com/download/wsm6.0.2temp.zip)

Unzip it, and copy the wsm.exe over the current one on their system, usually found here:

C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Worldwide Soccer Manager 2006\wsm.exe
Or alternatively you can download the full patch 6.0.2 which has also been updated to fix this issue.

Cheers,
GrantFM

Ah, well, this is good. I'd still like to having threading functional more than anything (the demo bit was just annoying for me, really...I know it was more for others though).
