i remember sean salisbury as a pretty good college qb at usc. but my recollection of his pro career was that it was pretty much a bust. but every time i hear this guy talk about his pro career i get the feeling that he is waiting for a letter telling him that he is going into the pro football hall of fame. did i miss something? i have to admit that he strikes me as an extremely arrogant radio personality.

Haha, pretty funny considering this is a guy who did the Battle Bots show color commentary.

well, I would certainly nominate him for the Worst Sports Personality Hall of Fame.

Is he that guy that played for the Vikings for a couple of years? My impression of him was that he was a decent enough qb in the Ken O'Brien mold - against any sort of pass rush he was useless, but put him on the right team and he could win a few games for you.
On tv he makes me want to wrap him in duct tape and stick him in the closet.

He was a good backup, never really got a chance to be the starter in Minnesota for some reason. But I did see him win a game in Mile High Stadium.

1996 has to be a typo.

I remember him QB the Chargers in the snow at Pittsburgh after Stan Humphries went down. The Chargers took a beating...

I think it's pretty clear that a guy with his career stats deserves to be so critical on real NFL players...

Yeah, I'm trying to remember why he didn't get a shot as the QB for Minnesota back in the early 90's. Did they still have Wade Wilson at that point?

No, this was during the quarterback carousel that Denny Green had. Let's see, I think he started with Rich Gannon, dumped him for no good reason, then Jim McMahon, Warren Moon (think Salisbury was his backup), Jeff George, Brad Johnson, Randall Cunningham and finally Daunte Culpepper.

I mean... no way his completion percentage could be that low... is there?

he only played significantly in 5 games. a couple games he only had an attempt or two, and several he had no attempts at all, yet I've seen the 16 game stat elsewhere. I'm guessing that he might have been the holder that year.
edit: he actually was just over 50% - 82 comp vs 161 attempts
