So, I go to check my email and I have this waiting for me regarding the Imperial League...

Hello,

I would like to attend games but I could not find any links to where the games where played. I am interested in the Newark Bulldogs. Could you direct me to the proper site or an actual address??

I kind of feel bad for the guy, because now I have to email him back and tell him the league is not real-life football. And I guess I need to increase the size of the "This is a fictional football league played on Solecismic Software's Front Office Football" disclaimer.

Who knows, maybe he will enjoy watching me download the exports and hitting the sim games button?

Oh man... it's like you have to tell him there is no Santa Claus. I feel a little bit sad for him.

Well, I emailed him back. I included a link to the Solecismic site, maybe he will check out FOF after he gets over his disappointment.

I think embarrassment would be the better word.

What's to be embarrassed about? Doesn't everyone want to see the great Newark running back Alan Crespo?

I had a guy e-mail me once saying he was interested in trying out for the NAFL. He cited his years of rugby experience.

It was hard for me to break it to him.

I got a PM to my assumed name in DKBL asking me if I could write for his league. He just wondered how I got the time off from ESPN.

It's not that far a drive to North Plainfield, is it?

I think you should play along and tell him the games are sold out for this year, and currently there is a 5 year waiting list.

No, tell him the games are sold out, but you can score him some good tickets at a reasonable price.

I'd send him complimentary tickets...have one of the graphic guys here make up a set for you.

This is kinda funny but here we are, all making fun of the guy. Don't you think he also could be the guy who's going "wtf, they're not even playing the games for real? Simply click a button and get results, woah, geeks!"???

Kinda funny either way me thinks :D

PS: I'm a self-proclaimed geek/dork/whatever so I'm all right with it. Heck, I cheer when my little billiard ball FM players send the tiny soccer ball past the other team's little billiard ball goalkeeper :D

It's not that far a drive to North Plainfield, is it?I was going to mention that earlier. http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/images/smilies/smile.gif I think our ungrateful fans have left 700 tickets available for each game, so this guy might be in luck.

Maybe he thought it was a league made up the of little men who live inside the tee-vee.

Oh no, feel free to fly across the pond and visit the Vermont area. Good luck finding your team headquarters though, I don't keep track of that info.

Problem Newark has is that 'C Money' is the only threat :)

Shut down the run and the Bulldogs are done

Yeah, I would imagine that the guy will be picturing a bunch of pocket protector-clad dorks playing a football version of dungeons and dragons or whatever, once he finds out the truth...

So I should have sent him pictures of some of our owners? Myself with the mohawk, Sov chopping wood, Suicane....well, looking sexy like Suicane does, Coder the suave Swede, Vito the recording artist.

Well, maybe that group would scare him off too.
