While few specific details of the game have been revealed, Creative Assembly states that players will lead their armies across the war-scarred battlefields of Europe and the Holy Land before crossing the Atlantic Ocean to arrive in the New World to do battle with the Aztec Empire.

As excited as I am about this game....that scares the shit out of me.

Holy Shit the screen shots look unreal, can you image 10,000 units on the battlefield at the same time in this much detail............Definitely a must buy for me.

I don't know, I always thought R:TW ran rather well all things considered, on some lower end systems the loading times were a bit more noticable though.

Don't have time to look at the link but is this an "upgrade" to MTW using the RTW engine? I had thought that RTW kinda didn't work well at all.

Concur. There's some things I liked about RTW, there's some things I didn't. But Rome never really captured the absolute fanaticism I had with MTW. MTW still remains the game I played the absolute most of...ever. (And that's topping Master of Orion, X-Com, and Civ). Rome...lacked something.

Here's hoping they sort of mesh ideas. And dear god, bring back Glorious Acheivements and don't turn it into just a "kill everybody" game.

I agree that Rome lacked something. I liked it well enough, and even got the expansion, but still. I played a lot more M:TW than R:TW. That said, I still think that EU2 and CK have the entire TW genre licked because the campaign game in TW is simply too easy and too simplistic.

I just read an article on this in PC Gamer. Looks pretty sweet. You can choose to build up a settlement as either a city or castle. City = exonomic, Castle = military. Castles can have more than 1 wall (mentioned 3 walls). With the pope, you have some influence on who becomes elected Pope.

Each fighter will be a sepereate entity. IOW, you have a unit of 40 swordsman (or however many). Each will act and even look unique. It won't be a unit of 40 clones. They kill someone, and then look around for who to attack next (or defend if someone is coming to them). There are a ton of animations, too. The described watching a swordsman kill someone and kicking the corpse to free his sword.

And the usual rhetoric of vastly improve AI all around.

I deplore these talks of unprovoked terrorist attacks. These castles, and the people who risked their lives to settle them, should have the right to exist in peace.

This is the talk of Lucifer. Those brave souls who have dedicated their lives to the service of Holy Spain shall be visiting you and ensuring you are not tainted by the devil. We must see to it that all of God's land is kept pure.
